Club Wyndham Glacier Canyon — Attraction in Lake Delton

Wyndham Vacation Resorts is the worst company I’ve ever had to deal with. What started as an ownership with so much potential and promise has quickly turned into one of the largest burdens and biggest mistakes of my life.

My initial purchase with Wyndham Vacation Resorts took place in June of 2015 at their Glacier Canyon location where I was visiting for my daughter’s National Dance Competition. I was lured into the introductory meeting with coupons and special offers. I guess I should have known by their bribery that this was a terrible idea. Nonetheless, I attended the meeting with no plan on purchasing. I basically wanted to see what the timeshare business was about and also get some free gifts while on vacation. The beginning of the meeting wasn’t bad because I was pretty resistant to their sales pitch. This call changed when the Wyndham reps realized that I was even the slight bit interested in buying. They literally pounced on me like a lion in the wild. They went out of their way to tell me all the great things about Wyndham Vacations and how I’d get a lifetime of amazing vacations for my family. Little did I know at the time that almost everything told to me was a LIE!

They told me about the fancy amenities I’d get if I became an owner and stressed how easy it would be to travel the world with this ownership. They emphasized the fact that this ownership was much more valuable than owning actual real estate, and that it would appreciate in value almost immediately. They told me I could rent the ownership for a profit in the event that I couldn’t use it, and even agreed to give me “bonus points” if I purchased that day. All of these factored greatly in my decision to purchase, but none of which have come to fruition.

Throughout the course of my 18-month ownership I’ve attempted to book numerous times, but we can never get the place or time that fits our needs. I had NO idea upon purchasing that booking would be this tough! I’ve called their reps for assistance in booking, thinking that maybe I had done something wrong, but still no luck. To date I have not been able to use my Wyndham ownership due to lack of availability. I was told this membership would be flexible and able to fit my needs, but my experience has been just the opposite.

In September I submitted a letter into Wyndham’s corporate office requesting the cancellation and refund of my ownership due to the fact that it has not provided as promised. Over the course of the past 4 months I’ve been tossed from one “senior case specialist” to another, who continuously deny my request for cancellation and refund. Jennifer Anzures and Lurline Morris are just two of many women who claim they have found no validity in my claims and continue to allude to the fact that I am a liar, which is both untrue and unprofessional on their part. They continue to claim that bookings are easy and that this ownership will provide for me, but continue to fall short.

I am so frustrated with Wyndham and wish they’d just do the right thing and let me out of my contract and give me back my money. I honestly do not know how these people sleep at night knowing they’re lying to innocent people like me.

Please, I beg you, do NOT do business with Wyndham; it’ll be the worst decision...

20 August 2025 - My wife and I stayed as guests of a time-share owner. We needed a convenient location for a wedding which we were attending in the area of the Wisconsin Dells, and the Club Wyndham Glacier Canyon Lodge was the perfect spot. The staff at Glacier Canyon Lodge took the extra-step in providing great hospitality service by allowing us to have a wedding gift mailed to the lodge a day prior to our arrival date, and held it for us at the guest front desk. They were also very helpful in aiding us with printing both a wedding ceremony and wedding speech on card-stock stationary. The One Bedroom Deluxe Suite had all the amenities necessary for a comfortable stay. *- Amenities Included: *-- Sleeping: king size bed in the bedroom, queen size fold-out mattress from the couch in the livingroom. *--- Full Kitchen: full-size refrigerator; stove; standard conventional oven; microwave oven; automatic coffee maker (drip style); automatic dishwasher; plates; bowls; glasses; plastic tumblers; mugs; flatware; cookware; mixing bowls; and cooking utensils - all part of the suite. *---- HVAC: Heat and Air-Condition are via duct work and are very quiet and controlled by the electric wall console; there are two ceiling fans (one in the bedroom, and one in the livingroom); and one electric fireplace in the livingroom. *----- Televisions: Two (one in the livingroom above the electric fireplace, and one in the bedroom.); the livingroom television is also connected to a BlueRay D.V.D. Player. *------ A stacked Clothes Washer and Clothes Dryer are in the suite.

• The Shower had a very accessible, very low step-in stall, in the suite we had, and this was not a "mobility roll-in" shower suite. ** There are Two bathroom Sinks with mirrors in the One Bedroom Deluxe Suite, one next to the whirlpool tub and one next to the shower stall.
• There is plenty of space for storing clothes in a chest of drawers and a closet in the bedroom, as well as a linen closet, and suite entryway closet. ** A nice Balcony with Two Chairs and a Small Table, and a sliding glass door and sliding screen door. ** Linens: Standard bath towels, hand towels, wash clothes, and a few kitchen towels are included with the suite.
• Cleaning Solutions: personal hand soap, hair shampoo, and hair conditioner are all in liquid form in pump-dispensing (refillable) bottles; dish detergent pods are provided for the dishwasher; and small clothes detergent containers for the clothes washer are...

The lodge and room itself was a 5/5 for us. The room was starting to show some signs of wear and tear but nothing overtly distracting. Beds were very comfortable, tub in Master room worked great, good water pressure, draining showers, nice gas fire place, useful kitchen, and a spacious 2 bed/2 bath unit.

They offered us $175 in gifts (resort cash and a local eating gift card) to listen to their presentation. I'd rate that a 2/5 and it does put a bit of a cloud over the stay. Lexi was our first hostess and was very pleasant. Steve was pretty pushy and then Lavon (older lady at the end) used a bait and switch on us at the last minute to get us to buy some points outright. These schemes involve all the techniques and sales' tricks making me even wonder if anything any of them said or did was true or genuine (e.g., the personal side stuff about upcoming vacations, snacks, initial friendliness, etc.).

DO NOT BUY INTO THEIR PROGRAM! Read up on time shares. There is maybe a small % of people that could benefit from one but for most it is a terrible financial decision. The yearly maintenance fees alone are over $1,300 in addition to the $xx,xxx (5 figure!!) price tag up front.

As long as they offer gifts, we will likely keep doing the presentations because the value is worth the 15 minutes of discomfort when they go from nice to, well, not so nice.

Very unimpressed with the "survey" lady from "corporate" at the end. I get it, they are trying to immediately recoup costs from the lavish gift money they give out but there is no need to mumble rudely when we say no.

So, in essence, the lodge is accommodating, comfortable, and inviting. We booked through Expedia for a great price (begging the question, again, why buying the timeshare is even necessary)...but we do want everyone to beware of the sale's presentation. If you don't want the 15-20 awkward minutes saying no then skip the gifts and enjoy the lodge and parks. Don't let them manipulate you. Do your homework first.
