We were a bit disappointed with our meal, even more so once I looked at my receipt. Our waitress really didn't know the menu and wasn't honest about charges. She did encourage us to look at the drink menu but I wanted lemonade. I asked if there were flavors and she said no. After we received them and had been left by our waitress I did look at the drink menu and there was a wonderful sounding lemonade on the mocktail menu. If she had known there was a lemonade on there, she could have pointed it out and sold a more expensive drink. Ordering our steak was painful. We asked for the saturday prime rib special and she asked about a different steak. I said, no, the saturday special. I ordered my sides, which has always been 2. Mashed potatoes and jasmine rice. She said it only came with one but that it came with mashed potatoes. OK, I said I wanted mashed potatoes but she said it came with one more and I said, yes, the rice. She even went so far to go to her manager and then come back to say it comes with mashed potatoes and asked if I still wanted them. I said, yes, mashed potatoes and rice. If it comes with mashed potatoes and one more side and I order mashed potatoes and rice, why is this an issue, even onto go so far as to check with the manager. Then she offered onions, mushrooms or both. We hadn't been offered this before and I asked if it cost extra and she said NO, so I ordered. I didn't think anything of it. She didn't print our receipt and was going to just show us her screen but I asked for a printed copy. I didn't read it too closely, my mistake but I saw I could scan the qr code and lay that way, so I did. When I went back to the digital receipt, I see we were charged for the onions on my steak as well as the mushrooms and onions on my husband's steak. I wouldn't have ordered them if I'd known it was extra, she said it wasn't. And to top it off, our steak didn't even come with the au jus that it's supposed to come with. I saw other prime rib come out with au jus. It would have helped since our steaks were slightly overcooked. This might be our last saturday...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis was probably one of the worst food experiences Iāve had, if Iām being honest. I was excited to find a place I hadnāt heard of and which wasnāt a chain, and walking into the restaurant, the vibe was nice ā it did actually remind me of walking into a bar in the Caribbean, and it was well decorated. However, the niceties stopped there. I ordered the lobster mac and cheese, which was a sick joke. Described on the menu as having lobster and crab, and while probably true on a technicality, it was filled with what Iāll call āsheetsā of meat. Picture crab sticks, unrolled ā that was the majority of the meat. Then there were small lumps of what appeared to be lobster, but they had the same mushy texture as fake crab. So yeah ā there probably is some lobster and crab in that, but itās seemingly just pulverized fish mac and cheese. Please, do yourself a favor and skip it. Itās not often I leave a meal unfinished, but I ate less than half; I just couldnāt handle it. The breadsticks it was served with were the saving grace; they had a slight crispness to the outside while being very soft on the inside.
I also ordered a cup of the jerk chicken soup; it was perfectly edible, but it mostly just tasted like chicken noodle with a bit of pepper thrown in. It definitely didnāt have any jerk flavor to it.
My wife ordered the mahi mahi, and similar in experience to others who ordered it and left reviews, it was dry, shriveled, and flavorless. Maybe had it been āserved with jerk sauceā as advertised it would have been a bit more tolerable. And funny enough, she commented that the rice was pretty good ā another trend I saw in reviews.
Finally, while service was friendly, it was pretty inattentive. We were one of only two tables in the establishment, and our two meals were served to the opposite person, and after the bill was handed to us I was asked if I wanted a refill on my soda. No, I wanted it long before, to help wash down the joke of a pasta. š
tl;dr: pass...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI understand how hard the service industry can be challenging these days. I never complain about anything unless it's absolutely horrible and it was just that at Bobbers tonight. We are a family of 4 and were greeted with a young girl and a grumpy middle aged woman. Our server was nice and pleasant and we placed all our orders. Appetizer was decent. Typical bar food. While we were waiting for our food the middle aged woman was walking around with a pissed off look on her face moving tables and chairs. We got our food. My boys burgers were good. They liked them. My chicken was dry but my boyfriendās dinner was absolutely disgusting. He got the Island tacos with Mahi Mahi. The mango salsa on the tacos was slimy. The Mahi was bone dry and tasted rotten and was inedible. The rice was crunchy and cold. The fresh vegetables tasted rotten as well. He had one taco and one bite of the sides and told our server that it doesnāt taste good. The plate was still full of food. Just take it back and take it off our order. Well. With their policy, they can only take half off of that dish and we can order something else. I told them thatās itās not fair, the food is not good. Something is wrong with it. Just take it off and weāre good. Well. We had to talk to the manager. She comes over and itās the grumpy middled aged woman named Macy! We explained to her how the food is and we were met with defensiveness and disrespect. Very unprofessional. We just wanted that plate taken off our bill. She turned around and walked off. Iāve never dealt with something like this at a restaurant, especially a manager. If she doesnāt like her job and canāt handle being a manager. She should do something else. I donāt recommend this restaurant. My server was nice and pleasant and I know he felt bad about the whole situation. When we left, no one said a word to us. That was a waste of $100. Save your money and...
