We stayed this week Monday to Thursday. Check in was 4:00, we arrived around 4:30...so did a lot of other people. It was nice that we were able to pull up front near the entry to park and get checked in, which took a fair 20ish minutes. It's considered the off-season so thankfully we don't have to worry about parking in the back forty each time we wanted to leave. Each day we were able to park really close and never once all week did we worry about slipping on ice in the parking lot, or walking to/fro the building. Thank you for that!! I appreciated that in the lobby near the check in desks there was plenty of seating! I was appreciative our room was close to the lobby, only about four doors down! I love the room keys... a small key card on a wrist-band! No fumbling for a key while holding bags...just flip your wrist across the screen! In the lobby there was a gift shop and Camp Fire Coffee; we didn't check either out all week. The waterpark.... shuttles? Thankfully there are phones in the entryway, you just pick it up and dial 0 to fetch a shuttle!! No waiting around for every 15 minutes or they only pick up on the xx minutes past the hour. The same situation holds true for when you're done at the waterpark! I noticed yesterday when leaving the parking lot there was a whole gaggle of shuttles parked.....good to know, should we come back during peak season! Our week here I didn't interact w any staff. We also didn't have any maid service. I didn't mind as I didn't feel we needed any extra any of the things; plenty of towels and necessities. The night we checked in I was a little annoyed by the the ....possibly children hopped up on sugar or so excited to be here...running around and possibly slamming one another in to the floor. However after a few hours I suspect they retired to bed and the rest of the week their presence was nearly non-existent, which I was grateful for. Now...on to our room...... I was beside myself in awe!! Not that we used it but we had a deck w a couple qederwswn each side of the living room so we wouldn't need to be so quiet when we woke each morning as not to wake the other person. Again not that we used it but there was a living room fireplace... fireplace!!! There was also a dvd player. Each bedroom had a tv, besides the one in the living room. There was a living room ceiling fan and one in the master suite. The master suite had a toilet, walk-in shower and soaking jacuzzi tub. The living room had a couch, coffee table, two end tables and two chairs. There was a breakfast bar w three bar stools. A nice big dining table w four chairs. A full kitchen! A fridge, oven, microwave, dishwasher, coffee maker, toaster, blender and an ice maker in the freezer. There was also a second bathroom right outside the other bedroom that had a toilet and tub/shower. Plenty of light fixtures and lamps throughout. As I opened cupboards there was a blowdryer in each bathroom,. There was a garbage and recycling can and iron, ironing board and hokey in the living room closet. I don't know what more else you could expect in a room... I mean there were even paper towels on the counter, a basket of coffee offerings and a pile of towels and rags. All the drawers had any utensils you may need and there was a knife block on the counter. The cupboards were stocked with dishes, glasses, pots and pans. Even the artwork throughout the unit was wonderful. The waterpark had one section down for "deep cleaning". The staff said it's the off-season so they do one of the three sections each day but all will be open for weekend use. We also noticed as we were packing up, our couch was a hide-a-bed... had we needed the extra sleep space. The hall closet had a stackable washer/dryer! There apparently luggage carts under both sets of stairs, I'm not sure how many, but w everyone checking in/out at the same time...may the odds be in your favor for...
Read moreCondo Unit 2085 (This is NOT Wyndham) Disgusting Experience – Glacier Canyon Lodge Condo at Wilderness Resort!
We booked a two-night stay at a condo in Glacier Canyon Lodge, part of Wilderness Resort, expecting a fun family getaway. What we got instead was a filthy, neglected, falling-apart unit, rude staff, and no real solutions.
I booked this trip months in advance, and it didn’t matter—I was still given a crappy room with a parking lot view, not the awesome waterpark view that you’d expect when booking so far ahead at a “resort.” The unit itself was rundown and embarrassing.
From the moment we walked in, the condo reeked of dirty carpet. The air was stale, but we couldn’t air it out—every window was sealed shut, even though this was a second-floor unit. There was a balcony with a patio door, but every interior door had to be propped open with chairs because they wouldn’t stay open on their own. Not normal. Not okay.
Everything was falling apart—the chairs and stools were ripped and torn, and several cupboard doors were loose or crooked. This was not just worn—it was neglected.
The bathtub was coated in years of biofilm from feet—this is the only shower in the unit, and it was disgusting. I did a scrub test, not a simple wipe, and drew a clear “X” into the blackened tub base—proving it can be cleaned, but has been ignored. The shower tile grout was painted over, and the bathroom floor grout was black with dirt. None of this is okay for a unit that’s supposed to be guest-ready.
And unbelievably, it looked like someone had done repairs using tar. Let that sink in—tar.
We went in person to the front desk. The first manager we spoke to was rude, dismissive, and literally told us to “stay somewhere else.” The second manager was more polite but said there were no other rooms available. So our only choices were to forfeit our non-refundable cabana reservations or return to the waterpark after being treated like a nuisance. That’s not a vacation—it’s a scam.
I have photos documenting every part of this. Wilderness Resort, you should be ashamed. Stop charging resort prices for units that are falling apart, filthy, and nowhere near the quality your website advertises.
UPDATE: After being contacted by Sr. Resort Manager Nicole Parkhurst who admits this isn't their standard, she was rude and lied about being "fully comped" for our 1st night. As a nurse, I cannot recommend Glacier Canyon Lodge. You will be cleaning the unit for safety. This establishment violates several health codes and administrative codes and possibly fire codes. Booking and paying early means nothing. If you don't like your nasty unit stay somewhere else and forfeit your...
Read more5 stars because our entire family had a great time and that's all that really matters. Kids are 8,13, and 15 and all had a blast. We loved the constant adventures around every corner. So much for all to do! We stayed in a 2 bedroom condo with 1.5 baths and a kitchen. It was great for a family of 5. Despite the 5 star review there is room for improvement but I do not feel it affects the overall rating. Room for improvement: Check in was way too long. I think it is because they go thru everything in depth but when it was finally our turn they said "sorry you had such a long wait we will make this quick"- and then we were left wondering about everything the entire trip because we were not told. The biggest issue was we were never told we could not room charge after checkout on the final day when we hung out at parks. We have stayed at sundara many times and always room charge on the last day. The women at Starbucks was so rude when we ordered one coffee and didn't know this. I think she would have taken my coffee back which I already drank a couple sips from if my husband did not run to find cash. At this point I feel a "sorry you did not know this please enjoy on us would have been nice" we did pay a ton to be there! Immediately after check in the timeshare people grabbed my husband and kids. We had already been in that lobby for 45 min checking in and they claimed "this is part of the check in process" I had to walk away and my kids were so confused. Oh "they were lying" was what they determined when I explained. Lying to sell stuff at start of a trip is ridiculous especially with kids listening. They also called the next AM. I said not interested very nicely and the women hung up! There was no ok have a good day, etc. Awful. That is NOT sales. If I was considering purchasing they sure turned me off. Room was missing a remote and a drain for tub. Those should be there for the price we paid. But not worth the compliant as would take time from our fun. That said, pros worth noting: Every single staff member was friendly and helpful. Giving knuckles to the kids and making all feel joyful. Waterparks are a blast and clean! I love the towel limit! It stops people from saving seats all over the building. Arcade was a favorite with all of the winable claw machines. And again, excellent staff and maintenance. Thanks for a wonderful stay! We...
