5 star show, 1 star dining experience...The show is very good - the performers are all talented dancers and powerful singers. Lots of interesting mash ups of songs that were a lot of fun. The opening number is weird - everyone is basically pretending to play their instruments, which makes you feel like you are in for a very long evening of "pretend" performances, but then everything that came after was unique and very well sung/performed. The food, however, is quite rough. Imagine if you had Thanksgiving dinner made by your high school cafeteria. Everything was luke warm or worse, cold. The green beans (the website describes them as being "sautéed just right, retaining their snap and flavor") clearly were dumped right out of a giant can of DelMonte or similar canned green beans, lol. The turkey and ham were dry. We had a gluten free diner with us and we were told they had GF options, but then the waiter never returned with them. You are supposed to be offered pumpkin pie -or- a chocolate brownie for dessert (my kids don't like pumpkin pie at all) and at the 8pm show they told us they "ran out" of the brownies earlier in the day. They offered ice cream instead, then came back to say they "ran out" of the ice cream as well. This was a huge drag for my kids. For some inexplicable reason, your ticket includes most sodas, but if you want root beer it's a $5 extra charge. My 8 and 10 year olds loved the show, but really nobody liked the food. We tipped well anyway as I figure it's not the server's fault if the food comes out cold and dry. They also spend the entire time you are eating peppering you with announcements regarding how much time you have left to eat while the waiters are hurriedly trying to bring and clear your food all while saying "no rush, take your time"!
Just show up full, order a drink, and enjoy the show. Then go out for a burger afterward if you are...
Read moreFantastic time. Well done show with talented performers. The sound quality was on point, the song selection had something for everyone and could be enjoyed by a wide range of ages. They acknowledged the Men and Women who have and currently are serving in the military, including a number dedicated to them, which is more than most do and still pails in comparison to the sacrifices these men and women make, bravo. The show closed with something that unfortunately is getting to be less and less common, the ACTUAL MEANING OF CHRISTMAS! None of this "Winter wishes," or "Happy Holidays" garbage, ACTUAL MEANING OF CHRISTMAS, which for those who don't know and or refuse to acknowledge is CHRIST! Fantastic! Bonus, there were live animals, dogs, sheep, and a legit CAMEL!
The food was great and the servers where fantastic. To those complaining about the vegetables this is NOT some vegan palace on the coast here, it's dinner theater in central Wisconsin for goodness sake, reality called it wants you to come back home. I do think marketing it as "Four Courses" is slightly off as course 2/3, sides and meats, are served all at once and would more accurately describe the meal not as "Four Courses" but instead as a "Traditional Christmas Feast!" My only wish would have been slightly more time to eat, say 1.5 hours vs the 1 hour as you do feel slightly rushed and the poor servers are running non-stop. Everything was hot, including the soup, everything tasted exactly as you would expect such dishes to taste. For the amount of work the servers do in such a short period of time I think $7.00 per person is TOO LOW. If we assume half the price is for the food you are looking at $100.00 for two. Would you leave a $14.00 tip for QUALITY service on a $50.00 a plate meal? I know I wouldn't, but then again I am NOT cheap.
We are looking forward to attending next year and HIGHLY...
Read morePros: Overall the show was amazing. We're up from Illinois for my daughter's birthday and I've never seen her eyes light up like that. Especially the opening light show. Have to admit that seeing her light up like that made me tear up. That alone was worth the price of admission. Singing was awesome! The staff and and even the performers after the show saw my daughter's birthday outfit and they were all so nice and sweet to her. She loved that. Felt like a celebrity.
Cons: Only downside was it's not advertised that you can come early to eat and it's all you can eat. We went to a 2pm show so we figured 1:30pm would be a good time to get there to find out seats and whatnot. But turns out we were one for the last to arrive. The service was mediocre. Food was decent. The house pushes hard for tips which I understand but with a table of 3 adults, we gave him $40 and he never came back to refill anything even after he said he would. But we saw other servers in different sections coming back. So no water or coffee during the show. I hate to play this card but my daughter has epilepsy and her trigger is dehydration and drinks a ton of water a day, so when she says she's thirsty, she's thristy. If we would of known that we'd never see our server again after he got tipped, we would of brought our own water bottle. And the light ceremony thing was cool but the table next to us took our candle before we arrived. So they either knew what was going on or just...
