Everything other than the minister was great! Questions were answered quickly and with certainty. When something was uncertain, the staff got back to us with an answer.
The photographer was quick and talented. The driver was really easy to work with and took some extra photos of us before we went back to the hotel. The desk staff were a pleasure to work with.
Our officiant was another story. We opted not to have an Elvis because we wanted something simple, classic, and more romantic. Our officiant spent the 6 minutes of our services making jokes and giving advice that didn't pertain to us or fit our values.
Normally, a minister or officiant would do that with a couple they knew or had discussed that with in advance. When we laughed uncomfortably with the jokes, she doubled down and said "We know this to be true." We got through it, it's fine, at least we're married.
It would just be nice to know what to expect, and we weren't looking for awkward comedy in front of our friends and family watching across the globe.
The really frustrating thing about the officiant, however, was that she had up to ten days to file our marriage certificate, which we need for immigration purposes, and she did not do it within that time frame.
You should know that after you register and pay with Graceland Chapel, you will then be informed you need to tip the photographer $20, the driver $40, and pay the officiant's $60 fee. This seems like a lot for such a short time with each of these people, but whatever, we ponied up the cash.
You will additionally be offered an expanded photo package. Our wedding package's photo credit was $100 (covering 5 photos), and we were offered all of the photos taken for an...
Read moreIâm actually very surprised at the 5 star reviews. This âweddingâ was meant to be a fun, memorable family wedding before my now husband and I have our big event in the fall. My mom is a huge fan of Elvis I thought that this would be a fun quick stop to our family trip.
The reviews checked out so we booked our wedding and waited. We called to reconfirm our limo and was barked at by a rude lady on the phone. Our limo arrived over 40 minutes AFTER the scheduled time. We opened our own door to get into the dark unlit limo. Spent more time on the road because the driver got lost.
Fine. Up to here we understand and maybe sheâs new.
Now we get to the chapel, everyone awkwardly sits in the front of the chapel where the front desk is upselling things from the package we ALREADY booked. My guests are sitting in the front with me listening to her upselling this and oh $15 for that, oh and make sure you have cash for the tip. $60 for Elvis, a âsuggestedâ tip of $40 for the limo (not suggested btw after being late we tipped her $30 and she followed us for the remaining $10) and a $20 tip for the photographer.
Then the mess of a wedding, Elvis did NOT want to be there hurriedly walked down the aisle. Made not even half of an attempt at an Elvis impersonation and read a few sloppy lines, we kissed took a few awkward photos and done. He signed our papers and said, okay now you pay us. Grabbed his âtipâ and said okay bye. This in the course of maybe 15 minutes 10 minutes of which was photos of me and my fiancĂ©.
My suggestion, go find another chapel. There are hundreds in town and this one is definitely...
Read moreI like that we were able to have a ceremony for $300. And they're upfront about paying the two extra fees you would have to pay after the wedding. They also tell your friend that the ceremony is 15 minutes. And they definitely stick to that, although ours was literally 5 minutes. They did send in the marriage certificate immediately which was great!
My biggest complaint about this chapel is the photographer.. After my daughter was married, the photographer took a group picture with all of us that attended. Then they asked us all to go stand outside while they continue to take photos of the couple. For one it was cold outside and we had the couples too little toddlers with us. Secondly, they didn't bother to ask the couple if they would have liked pictures with family members. So once the couple was done we took our own pictures outside. I have a sour taste in my mouth because it was so inappropriate to toss this out in the cold like that. Have a little compassion let us sit somewhere while you do the photos. And if I'm be honest, the pictures she took could have been done on anyone's phone. For $20 a photo you would think you'd want to take your time so that people would actually want to purchase them. Out of the 50 photo she took there were maybe five that were looked like a professional photographer actually took them.
At the end of the day if you really don't care about the photos then this chapel's absolutely fine ...The staff was nice, there was no...
