first of all i gotta say, ive been to many bars and clubs in my 44 years of life, and this is place is my absolute fav. I've been a local in Vegas for 30 years. Ive been all over this place, city, desert, and mountains. When my friends or strangers used to ask where on the strip i visit most often, i used to tell them i stay the hell away from it and have for 15 years. Then in 2016 i overheard someone talking about how different the atmosphere in this place is. Well that intrigued me. Because i simply cant stand the smoky clutter of barflies and drunks at the local bars, or the hordes of zombies at the clubs listening to regurgitated trance. I overheard that you could dress up in whatever costume you liked. This to me was bizarre, and tantalizing....i friggen LOVE HALLOWEEN! So my next fear was if id feel welcome. Because we all know people can be mean and weird. Well i gathered the strength to get into a costume and drive downtown. Fyi its literally walking distance from Freemont Street which is great for visitors. First positive thing i noticed was how easy it was to find. Can't miss the sign. Next thing was parking is a snap. Free parking right in front, and an overflow 40 feet across the street. As soon as i step out there were people in these amazing costumes right out front hangin out and talking. Right away i was greeted by strangers with smiles on their faces yelling WOLVERINE! Yes, i dressed as Wolverine. Easy peasy. When i walked through the front doors i was greeted with even larger screams and smiles! Wow that was an awesome night. Then the owner Alex walks over and starts taking pictures of me so he can post them all over social media, which in fact happened to launch my career. Turns out popular directors, actors, and comic-con owners know Alex well and regularly visit the bar, which ended up landing me the role as Wolverine in the upcoming Wolverine TV Series. WHHHAAAAT. Ya this really happened. Check it out on my Instagram OldManWolverine. Teasers coming soon. So, needless to say, this is my fav spot in Vegas. The overwhelming welcoming atmosphere and amazing mix of locals and strangers has made me a different and more social person. Thank You Alex for creating such an amazing place. All...
Read moreWe had heard of the Millennium Fandom Bar for a few years, but with the flood of creative concepts in Las Vegas, you can become jaded. However, Millennium Fandom Bar is like nothing I have experienced here or anywhere. The food and drink are above the norm with a unique and creative variety of choices, with the true intent of making your experience a pleasure. Alex, the genius behind Millennium Fandom Bar, has not created another Hard Rock, Planet Hollywood, concept establishment by slapping some memorabilia on the wall and waiting for the checks to roll in. Within minutes of sitting down, Alex introduced himself without pomposity or pretense and joyously shared his vision, and gave us a personal tour. My modus operandi is to enter, sit in a corner, and watch people ignore each other and hide behind their phones. At Millennium Fandom Bar, I not only saw no one staring at their phones but saw a room full of people including myself and my better half, fervently interacting in both experience and conversation with truly fascinating individuals. Yes, the Millennium Fandom Bar has the memorabilia, and it oozes with creativity, but it is so much more than that, it is the people, it is the heart, it is family; and not like the dysfunctional one you hide, but the one you always wished...
Read moreWow, I’ve had this place saved for nearly a year and has been dying to go see it. There was a strong LGBT scene that I wasn’t expecting. I met commander players and wish I brought my deck and some more board games after all was said and done.
It has fairly good prices (for a major city), and I had three drinks and two appetizers. There really isn’t any meal options. I spent about 30 and most of the drinks were well crafted and unique. The real draw is the geek scene and the atmosphere. Most of the staff are fairly busy catering to the place but they were professional, real, and could hold a conversation in any geeky topic that I could think of. There are comic books on one of the shelves you can read and they usually have a movie playing on every screen. I think there was about 15 to 30 people at the time. A smattering of tourists with the clientele mostly locals.
Angela was the real mvp and she basically served me whenever I needed and told me about the area. She has some killer tattoos.
I got in a game of red dragon inn but felt like I could have hosted a tournament on another day. Overall amazing experience to have on a Vegas night. Even on...
