7-Six The Vacation Supply Company — Attraction in Lauderdale-by-the-Sea

My family and I went out for dinner on our vacation in Ft. Lauderdale and decided to stop in this store for t-shirts and souvenirs for our family back home. Within 2 minutes of looking around the store, we were “greeted” by an angry older woman working as a clerk (Amy) who shouted at me from behind the counter to pull my mask up, which might I add, was already on correctly, it had just slid down my nose a smidge while bending over to look at things. I didn’t respond and pulled it up per her request, and proceeded to tell my young children that we weren’t buying the toys that they wanted up front while waiting on other members of our party. Amy proceeds to mouth off to us and then tell us to get out of her store. I informed her we were waiting on other members of our family and my little ones asked why this lady was being mean to us. I said she seems to be an angry woman who isn’t being very nice, and Amy then called me an “overly-made up Karen” and once again told us to get out of “her” store. I took it upon myself to write this review to fulfill her accusation of being a Karen. Mind you, I’m a young woman in my twenties and I was out for a night out with my family on vacation. My children were so upset about this altercation that I decided to walk back in and ask to speak to the manager (Finally decided to be a Karen because at this point I’m fuming) and sadly, Amy is the person running this facility. I asked for the name of the owner while getting further berated by Amy while the other members of my party were still shopping. As a business owner myself, there is way to treat people and to say things kindly and I would never allow someone to treat anyone that way in my business. She proceeded to trash talk me and call the owner to give her own account of what happened while the rest of our party was in the store and I was already gone. She completely upset my children and I’m sure many others that were in this facility and I really hope someone reviews the cameras and sees how disgusting this woman’s actions were. Disgusting. Also, Amy, please look up the definition of a “Karen“ (much older than I) and stop judging people based on appearances. Some people actually like to look nice while in public- and act like it too. I think the pandemic made some people lose their minds or sense of how to behave in public or...

I would suggest avoiding this place all together unless you appreciate being disrespected by extremely rude personnel and treated like a piece of $#!+. I wouldn't buy anything from this store if it was the last item on this planet. As a matter of fact, I tried to buy things. I DID buy things. I had completed my transaction action and was about to leave when the manager grabbed my bag and yelled that I had only paid for one of (the 2) items. My receipt clearly showed I paid for 2 items. She refused to give me my bag with what I had purchased and had a death grip on my receipt. I had to practically rip the receipt out if her hands to have my copy. She refused to give me my bag with what I had already purchased because she wanted more money. I refunded/canceled the transaction and left with nothing. I wouldn't have taken the items if she would have given them to me at this point. They can keep everything in that store as far as I'm concerned. I should have read all of the other negative reviews about this place before setting foot inside.

I really appreciate 7-Six The Vacation Supply Store located near Lauderdale-By-The Sea. I purchased a few items such as sunglasses, bracelets and a back scratcher that fits in your T-shirt pocket. It looks like a pen but opens up into a back scratcher. I have been going to this store forever as I live down here. It has a Lot of T-shirts, seashells, beach towels, sweat shirts, shorts, covers, bathing suits, fun nicknacks, candles, and is loaded with so many souvenirs. I posted pictures so you can get an idea! It was relaxing strolling around and looking at reasonably priced items that were colorful. It is a happy store. The employees were polite and did not hound me, like some of the other neighboring stores. My best friend and I enjoyed 7-Six Vacation before heading home. They do have sales as well.
