Long gone are the days of full stores and restaurants to enjoy. In another lifetime, this place was packed, even on weekday evenings with people shopping, or at least window shopping.

To walk in there today is a sight of sadness and emptiness, both literally and figuratively. Empty stores, possibly fifty people wandering around, and the feeling of impending doom for the last remaining mall in our city.

Sure, we can blame online retailers such as Amazon, Temu, snd the like, and yes they did do damage, but the other issue is the rent, rather high for such a city that's poverty level is just as bad.

Back in the day not only where stores full, and MCL and Woolworth Cafe riding high, but you could look forward to Family Fun Fair, Senior Expo, Car shows, now they offer nothing to give the community a reason to go.

JCPenny, being the last anchor store, which I have a feeling, won't be there too much longer. FYE is closing up, Rue 21 is long gone, and Buckle moved to the Plaza near Hobby Lobby. Everything is leaving.

I'm going to guess within the decade this mall will go the way of the American Mall, closed up, sitting empty, then leveled.

People today will never get to know the joy and feeling of going here on weekends, walking with friends with full stores, sitting down, and having food (though Chopsticks Express is pretty good), nor going to the mall to see the car shows, or parents taking kids to fun fairs, seniors getting a chance to walk around for the expo. Younger people won't get to go to the tuxedo shop to plan out homecoming or prom there. Going to the music stores (Still love you NRM and Camelot). But hey, Spencer's is still there, for now.

There's still time to change things, lower rent and give businesses a reason to set up shop there. Or, go the way of...

The place is nice and all. But some of the stores are going out there's not many stores that but the ones that are they're doing really well and but there's and there's two mean big stores Macy's and Kohl's. My favorite store is Claire's they also have some jewelry shops and they also have some store in Mini Storage in the middle that sell things. My favorite food thing they have there is Auntie Anne's I really recommend them if you haven't tried them and recommend you try them. They have a nice sitting area if you need to sit down that has really nice lighting. They also have quite a few stores that are especially for the holiday. Some things that they have are also some animals that like stuffed animals that you can like ride on that are like electric and you can ride them around the whole place. They have quite a few places that you can eat. Also they have helpful signs where they say where you like East and West End North End cells and and then and then they like have if you went one way then you've they have signed me and go back where...

This is on behalf of a tiktok creator (@purplehazemue) this individuals boyfriend/ husband got arrested because he matched the description of a man they were looking for here is how incredibly vague the description was "A black shirt and black sweatpants with white sneakers and shoulder length dreads" she states in the video talking about it that he had just got his hair cut and that they had just walked into the mall, along side that the cops involved refused to give any information as to why they were just suddenly arresting a man immediately after he walked into a mall. More than that these people weren't doing anything they were simply filming a video in the mall about what different restaurants had as free birthday things, as it was HER BIRTHDAY. Also the mall did nothing to stop the officers or give this man a chance it was an immediate arrest with no backstory other than the description. Thank you for your time. And please go to this creators account and show some love...

I was actually pretty surprised by this mall as far as active storefronts and not having as many empty spots as I expected. My review has almost every store pictured as of March 2025. There were a lot of people inside walking around, and lots of name brand stores inside. The mall is divided into 2 sections, east and west with JcPenney dividing them. To get from one side to the other, you must walk through JcPenney or park on each end. The west side only has Hot Topic and The Hero Day, while all other stores are on the east half. There's no food court, the only 3 food spots I saw here Cinnabon, Auntie Annes, and Chopsticks Express.

We LOVE hero day!! This is such a great way to spend the day with kids. We've taken ouR nieces and nephews here a few times, and we always have a blast. The facility is always super clean and the inflatables are super fun and HUGE!!! This most recent time we did the glow golf, and the kids had so much fun they wanted to do it back to back 🤣 Def recommend taking kids here! It'll FOR SURE wear them out.
