An update to this review on 7/19/2025 - decides to be a real optimist and went back to Broadway because, well, the pizza and meatballs are delicious. Walked into the bar at 10:00pm (they close at midnight today) and once again, hopes dashed. “We’re not serving anymore” “takeout only” all pleading that their posted hours said midnight were met with stony glances and dismissive gestures as the bartender and server went back to chatting with already seated guests (who were eating some delicious pizza). Only question that remains now is if I will continue to put my faith in such an institution that’s proven over and over again how unfaithful it is. Alas, the pizza is just that good. Or I guess I could get some takeout meatballs and eat them on the street with the man in the wheelchair who was unable to open their door because their entrance isn’t ADA accessible.
Original review: December 2024(ish) I love Broadway pizza, the food is amazing, the vibe and location are great. What I hate about Broadway pizza is that they never ever ever stick to their posted hours. I’ve been asked to leave and had my meal served to me in a to-go box while sitting down and the hours say they shouldn’t be closing for another hour and a half. Showed up at 8 when they closed at 10, made it all the way inside of the doors (that were propped open) for the bartender to tell me they were closed - two hours early with a single patron still at the bar. I’ve showed up at 7pm on a Wednesday and the doors are locked, no sign, no notice. I’ve had some man come up to my group and tell us they were closing an hour early for a “private event.” Who starts their private event at a pizza place at 11pm, one hour before close?? It’s so frustrating because I love coming here, the food is top notch, the espresso martinis are the best around, but like… just be open when you say you’re going to be open? It’s not that difficult. Or maybe it is, idk. Would always recommend this place if you can catch it when it’s...
Read moreUpon my initial visit to this establishment, I was immediately captivated by the interior aesthetics. The decorations were truly impressive, and the cleanliness of the place was commendable. Moreover, I was pleasantly surprised by the exceptional customer service provided by an employee named Raven. She made me feel incredibly welcome and was remarkably easy to converse with, as if we had known each other for years despite having just met that day. Since our interaction, I have been a consistent patron of this establishment. Even if I were not a local resident, I would willingly make the drive to this location in order to enjoy the company of others and, of course, to see Raven on the days she works.
Now, let's discuss David, the manager. He, too, possesses remarkable customer service skills and always ensures that I feel welcome and attended to whenever he is present. I must also commend the owner, Mike, for the outstanding job he has done in creating this place. The entire process of its inception is truly commendable, as it has provided the community with a wonderful space to enjoy their meals and the company of their loved ones.
I wholeheartedly recommend this place to anyone seeking a welcoming and comfortable environment. Personally, I often opt for their sausage and mushroom pizza, which never fails to satisfy. Although I have yet to try their burgers, they are next on my list. I did, however, sample their spicy wings, which unfortunately did not appeal to my taste. Nevertheless, the rest of the menu is consistently excellent. Each time I visit, I have the opportunity to meet new people, further enhancing the sense of belonging and homeliness this place offers. Additionally, the music selection is superb, further adding to the overall...
Read moreVisiting from Vegas, originally from Hawaii, I had a one night stay in Long Beach on 9/14/18 before embarking on my cruise. My daughter and I were walking thru town and decided to stop here for a bite to eat. It was close to about 7:30pm on a Friday night and it wasnt that crowded. We walked into the small diner type restaurant with black and white checkerboard tile floors. There was a neon red light glaring from under the bar area. About 7 tv's surrounded the walls around the restaurant. We seated our selves and our server, Gretta came to the table to greet us. She was kind enough to recommend some items on the menu. Water was served in a cute glass flip top jar. We ended up ordering the Garlic Cheese Rolls, Herb Crusted Flash Fried Swiss (like deep fried mozzarella). My daughter had the Rosettis Lasagna and a salad. The Garlic Cheese Rolls and Fried Swiss also came with a heaping pile of salad. Our food came out quite quickly and the temperature was good. All of which was delicious and we could not finish all of it. We ended up boxing it and giving it to a homeless person down the street. I am a postcard collector when I travel and there were Broadway Pizza & Grill postcards available on our table. It was great of Gretta to sign my postcard with a short note. It's a cute place to have a couple drinks and watch the game as well as just a good dinner. I would recommend to anyone visiting Long Beach. The only thing I would probably change is that the lighting be a little more brighter as in my opinion it was a little dark. Otherwise, Gretta and the rest of team...
