I want to preface this review by saying that I don't mean to portray CleanSlate entirely negatively, but I just want to write this review to others like myself who are very new when it comes to trying to recover from addiction. I think the work CleanSlate does is important but I could tell immediately they weren't a fit for me.
For one, the staff all around was very friendly and I did like that. The doctor didn't make me feel judged. I started feeling apprehensive when an obviously extroverted client in the waiting room talked with other clients and I heard their descriptions of attending CS. One girl in particular said she had been frustrated because her wait times were ever changing and she wound up missing a lot of work hours due to her appointments. Considering that your appointment gets automatically cancelled if you're 10mins late, it seems odd that (according to the patients talking) you're never actually seen within 10mins of your appointment time even if you are timely. I would let this factor slide as accountability is important if it wasn't for the fact that when I did talk to the doctor I realized this place wasn't going to actually help me put addiction behind me- I want to add another caveat that I have never done any type of addiction treatment before and I'm extremely new to it. I think CleanSlate can be a good fit for someone who: 1) has received prior treatment, wants to stay on MAT, and just needs a clinic to fill that script or 2) wants to achieve harm reduction by replacing a dangerous substance from their body while not necessarily looking to recover fully from addiction. (I'm not going to say that an addict should be cut from their access to a life saving medication that keeps them from OD'ing on street opiates just because they're not ready to fully recover.) For me, I immediately felt stressed during my conversation with the doctor. I came in wanting real help to fully get sober and I saw the doctor on an intake visit for less than 10mins. The provider was nice and knowledgeable but I got the impression she didn't feel able to get me into real recovery if that makes sense.(At one point, she literally said "I don't recommend using other substances but if you do, we just have you come in more often." I don't think she meant anything bad by that, again I feel harm reduction is important but I don't think their approach is a good fit for me and my needs.) I think the services here can help someone far along into recovery already continue to access much needed medicine or it can be a place to receive harm reduction for those wanting to avoid specific substances without actually going into recovery but I realized pretty quickly this wasn't a good fit for me as someone wanting to go into full recovery and being new to seeking such help.
TLDR Cleanslate was pleasant enough and it can definitely be a great place for you depending on your needs. But if you have no recovery experience and want to get real help to go into full recovery this probably isn't the best starting point for...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI found this place when my boyfriend was getting clean after many yrs of addiction. At first staff seem to be helpful and all was going well. I have went through yrs of the addiction with him. I know when he is using and when he isn't. And this time I can truly say he is doing amazing at the whole sobriety thing. Im not one to enable because that does happen many time from family and or significant others .And out of no where his drug screens where coming back positive ,with this being said he test 3times a week where he is watched and no positive test except clean slate .Maybe these folks need to rethink the lab they use or maybe the insurance companies need to check into this practice. Because from working in the insurance field higher level of care the more money they make on patients. We have now went somewhere else where there has been no positive test . I want to wish the best of luck to anyone becoming sober and keep your head up because this isn't easy for anyone including the family. Don't give up . It is possible. He is still doing amazing and so can u. But beware of this facility because it can make you discouraged when you truly know this time that you are sober . Discouragement is what had started to happen with him so we had to found another facility. And when I say we It's because we are all in...
Ā Ā Ā Read morelast year I gave this place five stars... I had a review written, which I am now editing. The past 5 months maybe. It has really went down hill. I never see the same provider, ever!! I used to see the same provider every week, he knew about me, about my life, he asked a lot of questions. Now I'm Lucky if the person I seen on my appointment is still working there the next time I go. I go once a month. Everytime I go they tell me well we only have one provider because the other ones don't work here anymore. I used to spend 20 or 30 minutes in the room with my provider they would talk to me and asked me if I was doing okay ask questions now I don't even sit down I walk in they say doing okay same Pharmacy and I walked out. Now when you go in there so many people that they don't even have enough chairs for everybody every time I go and collect a urine sample at someone different taking it I have had multiple times where they told me that I failed my drug test but then they send it in and it was fine. It's just an unorganized chaotic mess and it seems like it's turns more into a money-making mail than anything I do not feel like one person that works there actually cares about what they're doing so I would usually in the past recommended this place but I would definitely think twice...
