This used to be a good Waffle House in Macon, but now it is terrible!!! I was there just a few minutes ago with my brother. The waitress I had, The Diamond is all that was on her name tag, and I couldn't read her writing on the check, so I don't know her real name it looked like maybe Dominique, I don't know. Anyway she just totally ignored us we waited a long time when we sat down before she decided we were not going to leave before she came to wait on us. Then it took her a long time before she brought the food. after she had her conversation toon several others in there. she brought the bacon practically uncooked which I had her take back to cook more done. Then brought our waffles almost burnt and no syrup. I asked for syrup and she said ok, but instead went back to her conversation with the people at the counter I asked again then was ignored and she started ringing other people up. O.K. fine I asked the girl that was putting up declarations, if I could have the syrup, which she brought it. Now I was going to let it go but when I asked for more coffee and was ignored even after hollering did you forget my coffee over and over several times and still being ignored. I finally asked another waitress for coffee and she did. Now how would you feel??? Oh and I hate to use the race card but,. we were the only white people in there. And the Music was so loud it vibrated in your chest. Theusoc should not be that loud?!! Something needs to be done about this place before it will be nother Waffle House brought down...
Read moreGreat food and great service all delivered by the only individual working at the severely understaffed establishment. A lovely middle aged, over worked, under paid waitress (it's not even in her job description to cook but she did it anyways We tipped her well). A cook showed up while we were there but he clocked in only to immediately go back outside, re enter his vehicle, roll and smoked a blunt, and sat in his car while he watched the waitress do his job. When he finally came into the restaurant, she gave him one of the orders of another family that had just been seated and he lost it. He yelled at her and exclaimed "dont be giving me no orders when I aint even behind da stove yet", to which she profusely apologized. It was obvious that she was intimidated by him and the entire situation was awkward.
Food was great, her service was great, but the ambiance was awkward and sad (more so than a typical waffle house).
Nevertheless, I have been to this establishment before and almost always been pleased with both its food and service..so perhaps this was just a freak occurence? Regardless the cook should be reprimanded (as I know firing him is not really an option at the moment in that all waffle houses are experiencing dramatic...
Read moreMy two young grandchildren insisted on eating at a Waffle House for a late dinner after a late play date in Macon. We had rode around looking for a waffle House that we could sit down and enjoy a meal of Waffles. We arrived at the 4th Waffle house where We waited at least 20 minutes before we were even spoken to and then by a waitress that was on her break. The waitress whom was working our table argued that it wasn't her table. There was a lot of turmoil between our waitress and the cooks, with arguing and curse words with each order she called. The temperature is set below freezing in all Waffle House restaurants I have ever been inside - looks like they would try and keep their customers a little more comfortable to insure their return business. Let's just say I had two frozen-grouchy kids by the time we got to cash register- when it was my turn to pay- I was made to wait as the two ladies sitting at booth by register handed their ticket and card to waitress and she took their money and made me wait. I can assure you - We Won't Be...
