Clearly not ready to be open for business. Went to see the Avett Brothers who I love and always put on a great show. Cue to get in was slow and disorganized. The security guard assured us that everyone would be able to get in before the show started. When we did finally get in you had to walk through the area where all of the vendors are located. An absolute confusing mass of humanity with no clear direction. We hopped in line to grab a beer and 10 minutes later we are nowhere near getting a beer yet and the the show starts. I decided to give up on the beer and head to my seats. A couple of ushers around but no one to really help you find you spot but I managed to flag someone down to point me in the right direction. Find my seat and settle in. My buddy who decided to tough it out in the beer line missed the first 4 songs of the show. The sound was noticeably off from the very beginning and cut out completely multiple times including for the entirety of the final encore song of the night. No telling who or what caused the issue but I’ve seen this band all over the country and never seen any issues with sound quality. I’m going to infer that based on the plethora of ineptitudes shown by the venue that it was more of their issue but I will grant that I don’t/won’t ever know the true problem. One of the reasons I love this band so much is because of the amazing energy they bring to every show and it makes the crowd electric. Not even they could overcome the obstacles before them on this night and they, along with the crowd, were obviously frustrated. On the way out we talked with quite a few folks who were charged $25 to park when it was supposed to be included with the ticket. Hopefully they are able to get reimbursed. Honestly I feel pretty ripped off for the price we paid and the experience that was delivered. Won’t be going back here for any...
Read moreEmbarrassingly bad.
Let's start with the fact that when we entered (15 minutes before concert posted start time), we were stuck waiting outside the Kings Island main gate. One security guard was crowd controlling 500 people, without even a microphone or bullhorn.
Put all patrons through a funnel entry, no line, and VERY unsafe. No lines or stanchions to speak of.
They were not even SCANNING TICKETS! The admission worker literally TOOK A PICTURE of the QR code on my ticket (not even scanning... no verification)
Concessions were directly in front of the admission line, meaning foot traffic flow was an absolute nightmare. So glad we ate before we came, because the food was bad even for a concert venue.
The stage is BROKEN! The performers could not step on certain parts of the stage for their SAFETY. The facade is badly kept, trim is falling off and even the logo is broken.
However, MOST EMBARRASSINGLY, they couldn't even keep thr SOUND ON. The sound system blew out at least twice, which, for a major headliner like Avett Brothers, was completely unacceptable and amateur.
Timberwolf Amphitheater is nothing more than a theme park stage, I don't think any serious performers will put up with this...
Read moreGreat idea, poor execution. I loved the idea of reopening the Timberwolf Amphitheater. I was excited to relive some childhood memories. The amphitheater itself looks and feels the same as 30 years ago. Staff was nice and helpful. However the execution by KI was incredibly frustrating. First we had to wait in a line for 15 minutes to get in. I guess KI isn’t KI without a queue. Then once you were inside, it was a cluster. You couldn’t decipher where any particular concession line began. Then it took over 20 minutes to get a beer. Even the VIP beer line was incredibly long. This occurred throughout the ENTIRE concert. The lines never got short. Then at the end, KI didn’t let us use the entrance to exit the amphitheater, we had to walk through action zone and leave through the main gate at the same time as the fireworks. All very poorly planned and...
