Kapalua Ridge Villas — Attraction in Maui

This was a nice quiet condo. Probably best for a couple or family with little kids or a single teenaged child. It was nice that there were chairs and a boogie board to borrow, we really appreciated that. We left a few sand toys to contribute to the supply of beach items. We probably could have done without a rental car and just used the shuttle or walked everywhere. Be advised there are stairs. So this is not good for people with mobility issues. The upstairs bed was comfortable as was the pull-out in the living room. There are not light-blocking window treatments, so the early morning sun will wake you up. The kitchen has all pans and appliances you might need. You may want to bring spices if you plan to cook. Salt, pepper and sugar were in the cupboard. Units vary a lot in quality. Have come to love this complex after 4 stays. Beautiful location and views. “Moody” weather but I actually like it because calm sunny hot beaches are a quick drive or longish walk away, and it’s nice to have warm gusts blowing at Ridge to break up the heat spells. It means we don’t need to use AC during the day.

Part of Kapalua resort so free shuttle is available. Beautiful walking paths within the complex and all around- some good hills so I can get my heart rate up a little on morning walks!

Two condos had moldy musty smells, but two others were remodeled and had no odor issues. Pools are really not pleasant though - could use some nice tiles instead of 40yo...

Over the tree tops, you pretty much have a 180degree view of the ocean. Well equipped unit. Dining in was always with that lovely view and nice to have a desk also looking out to sea. Could have been a little more fresh, ireally do not like a deep pile rug in the bedroom, especially in tropical climate. Location takes advantage of cross breezes and trade winds.
