The 2023 Miami International Auto Show was in town and a car show is not one to be missed when I am assured of seeing the latest ranges of pickup trucks from the likes of Ford, RAM, GM and Chevrolet. The show which runs for 10 days based at the Miami Beach Convention Center in South Beach and featuring over 20 of the World’s top automakers and offering a range of test drive opportunities with a very cool indoor EV track.
I dragged my unfortunate partner around the show who actually enjoyed it more than she would care to admit but she was soon leaping into the passenger seat of one pick up after the other with us both taking a particular shining to the new 2024 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD – High Country.
After visiting Ford, RAM and GMC we were spoilt by the absolutely amazing Rhonda who I was fortunate to grab for a question regarding the infotainment system. Rhonda’s knowledge was second to none and as a long-time pickup owner I can honestly say that I have never met a brand representative with such extensive and detailed knowledge of the product range. I actually spent over 30 minutes with Rhonda and there was no question from towing capability to the 14-camera system that she could not answer this lady is a true Chevrolet Connoisseur.
I had been underwhelmed by the previous representatives at the other major brands but needless to say my next pickup will be an upgrade to the Silverado based on Rhonda’s incredible professionalism.
This is not the Chicago, Frankfurt, Geneva or Munich Motor Show, but if you are in Florida and in the market for a new Car, EV, SUV or Pickup truck this would be a great place to start your research and test drives under one roof.
We had a great day and enjoyed the test drives of the Volkswagen ID4 and the Chevrolet Silverado 2500 HD, if you have not been definitely pickup tickets online for the eagerly anticipated family day out at the 2024 Miami...
Read moreWe hadn't been to the auto show for many years and took my mother to look for a new car. She has owned and loved Audis for many years, and likes to see the newer models, but wanted to compare mini Cooper to the new mini BMW we saw on the road recently. I drive a Mercedes and my husband a Tesla, and we were interested in comparing some of their other models. We ended up disappointed that we drove 45 minutes to the beach, paid quite a bit of money for all of our family's tickets and parking, and gave up our Sunday, only to find that none of the cars we went to see were at the show. Many of the auto manufacturers who were there did have beautiful displays, and we enjoyed some Salty Donut and coffee while we checked out a bunch of cars just for kicks. It's a good place to compare a lot of more economical cars all together under one roof, but has shrunk significantly, and lost the old razzle dazzle of yesteryear. I'm sorry we didn't read these reviews before going. We won't...
Read moreSad. No excitement. Show was maybe 1/4 the size of it's previous self. No Vendor's booths. Food vendors few and far between. Employee at arepa cart gave me a hot arepa off the grill and then added frozen cheese inside. What the Puck. Clearly someone that doesn't know what they're doing. Cars in Antique Alley we're cordoned off and you could not get anywhere near them. Also sad. Honda not represented at the auto show at all. Mazda not represented at the auto show at all. BMW appeared on the map, but we're not there at all. Tesla not represented at all. Volvo not there at all. Pollstar not there at all. Ravian not there at all. Lucid not there at all. What kind of international auto show was this anyway? It will be years before I attend the show ever again. Basically, it was just the Hyundai and...
