On August 8, 2025, something happened. We took the second tour bus at 8:00 p.m. Ten minutes later, the verdict came in: the bus had broken down. They offered for us to come back the next day, but we were leaving and wouldnât be in Miami anymore. I came from France, and this was my only chance to do the night tour.
The driver decided to restart the engine to return, but thick burnt smoke started coming out and the engine caught fire. We all had to get off the bus to stay safe. Fights broke out between some passengers â it was unbelievable. Our safety was compromised.
The first bus could have come to pick us up and finish our tour, or even start it from there⊠but no, we were told to stop and file a complaint. Absolutely shameful. This is the last time Iâll ever use this company â totally unprofessional. And I almost forgot: the microphone didnât even work. Shameful.
We were never told that we were supposed to continue the tour. As a result, we didnât do anythingâno one spoke to us, and we were kept downstairs, confined, without being able to enjoy the view. Downstairs it was all lit up, we were just sitting there in silence, thinking we were heading back. No one reassured us, and since we donât speak the local language, we were left completely on our own. Continue what, and under what conditions? The people upstairs were happy, but us downstairsâwhat state were we in? No one came to talk to us; instead, they focused on those who had the good view and were enjoying their tour. Meanwhile, we were disappointed and panicked. The bus could have offered us another full tour given the circumstances, but noâthey just made us get off and told us, âTomorrow is fine,â even though we wonât be here. This is just...
Read moreMy wife and I recently went on the Big Bus Night Tour in Miami. At first, everything seemed promising. Our tour guide, Martica, was energetic and seemed knowledgeable. We were genuinely enjoying the ride and even considered leaving a positive review mid-tour when she asked for it â but that all changed at the end.
As we were getting off the bus, Martica physically stood in our way and demanded a tip, telling us outright that gratuities are the only way she gets paid. This wasnât a polite suggestion or a casual reminder â it was uncomfortable and aggressive. We were caught off guard and felt pressured in front of the rest of the group.
We explained we didnât have cash on us and asked if she had Cash App, Venmo, Zelle â anything digital. Her response? A sarcastic and dismissive, âThatâs what everyone said yesterday.â The tone, body language, and delivery were all inappropriate and made it clear she was frustrated with us for not tipping â despite us explaining we were willing if she had a digital method.
The issue is bigger than just one guide. Nowhere on the Big Bus website or tickets does it say that tips are required or that cash is expected. In this day and age â when most people use cards and digital payments â itâs unreasonable to not offer a modern way to tip, and even worse to shame customers for not carrying cash.
What makes this worse is that she asked for reviews before the tour was over, which made us feel like she was trying to secure high ratings before the full experience played out. We had written a nice review initially, but we felt we had to go back and revise it after what happened.
Honestly, Big Bus should be ashamed that their drivers feel the need to corner tourists for tips. If drivers arenât being paid fairly, thatâs a management problem â not something that should fall on the shoulders of the guests.
We paid a premium price for this experience. To walk away feeling uncomfortable, guilty, and pressured completely ruined what couldâve been a great night. We will not be booking with Big Bus Tours again and would not recommend it unless they address this issue publicly and improve how they treat both their employees and...
Read moreJust on my way back from Everglades Tour in Miami! Our experience at the Everglades was fantastic! Mr. German, the Big Bus driver, was very nice, polite, and honest. The entire staff at the holiday park was amazing. Captain Drake (if I remember his name correctly) was awesome! He shared some interesting facts about the place and wildlife. There was some speedy rides but also a few short stops. He introduced us to his bird friends, stopped the airboat, and literally called them by name. It was so much fun feeding them, and soon the rest of the âbird mafiaâ showed up too! The scenery was breathtaking, and I loved the atmosphere of the wetlands. Our only regret was that the speaker system on the boat wasnât good enough, so we couldnât hear everything properly. I would have loved to spend more time on the boat, getting closer to nature, and stopping more often. I think the loud engine noise might actually scare the alligators away. We were told by another guide that itâs breeding season, which could explain why we didnât spot many alligators in the water. However, we were lucky enough to see ONE! We also watched the alligator show, and I must say it was fantasticâboth entertaining and educational. It was great to learn that they actually rescue alligators and take good care of them. A few suggestions: since the boat engine is quite loud and the speakers donât work well, providing headphones would be a great improvement. Also, for the bus transfer, a bit of entertainment, like some music, would make the ride even better. Overall, it was an amazing experience. For the airboat and alligator show experience I would recommend it! Oh, and nice touch of the holiday park to take a free picture at the beginning of the tour-...
