I have been to many Bubba Gump’s across the country, this was by far the worst I’ve been to.
I’ll start with the positive, the food was the same good quality I’m used to from Bubba Gump and the location was nice. Given how few people were in the restaurant at the time, I expected fast service. Unfortunately, I was wrong.
What absolutely killed this experience was the horrendous service, which started right off the bat. The hostess Angie was visibly irritated to be at work, and it seemed like we were inconveniencing her by waiting to be seated. After being seated, we waited over 10 mins before our server, Maria, came to our table. When Maria finally came to our table to take our drink order, she wanted to rush us to order everything at once so she didn’t have to come back. Maria left our drink glasses empty and only offered refills once. When the bill came, Maria overcharged me for my drinks. When I brought it to her attention, Maria did not accept responsibility and argued with me over the charge, making statements I knew were not true from previous visits to Bubba Gump. All in all, Maria made us feel like we were bothering her and put forth absolutely no effort.
The experience ended when we went to get our souvenir glass from the gift shop (which you pay for when you get a 20oz beer). The gift shop was unattended and, after waiting ten minutes without being helped, we asked the bartender for help. The bartender told us someone was supposed to be there and he didn’t know where she was, but made no effort to help us. Finally, a few minutes later, Angie walked back in and gave us our glasses while talking to another man who walked in with her, who clearly knew Angie personally and wasn’t an employee.
We never saw the manager at any time and no employee ever apologized for our service or showed any concern for us at all. I will not return to this location and recommend you find another...
Read moreI went to Bayside this evening and walked around for a while. I was excited to try Bubba Gump Shrimp as I had never tried it before. We got to the hostess stand where there wasn't anyone posted. We waited about 10 minutes until we saw a staff member pass by, she saw us but did not acknowledge my party.
About five minutes pass and we are still standing there. The staff member mentioned above came outside only to grab a party that she must have spoken to earlier who was waiting. Again, she did not acknowledge us standing there at all.
Finally, a line began to form and she walked outside. Looked at the line and asked us for how many. We said two. Then she looks at the menus on the podium and looks inside and says "It's going to be a twenty minute wait". She doesn't take our name or anything and walks away.
She passes by again and a woman from the party behind us asks if we have to stand in line. The staff member then says "Yeah you wait here or you can walk off and give me your name and I'll put it on the iPad". The lady looked skeptical like if she put her name down she would never hear back, as I felt the same way.
The manager passes by and doesn't acknowledge us. But, I ask "So we have to stand here, no one is going to take our name or anything?"
He replies in a condescending and rude tone "You're next, just wait here. We're full. We're cleaning tables now".
Finally after contemplating, we decided we did not want to spend our money at an establishment with such poor service. Which was a shame because the ambiance looked great and the menu items looked intriguing.
Unfortunately, due to the lack of professionalism and good service they lost our business.
I don't recommend spending your money here for below mediocre service. Especially when there are plenty of other dining...
Read moreLet’s start with the female waitress whose build is of a linebacker with all the arm tattoos. I asked her for a CADILLAC margarita. She said she didn’t know what that was so I told her if she tells the bartender ‘Cadillac margarita’ he or she would know what drink that was and would be able to make it. Instead of continuing with the order she began to question me about what are the ingredients in the drink. I told her again the bartender will know how to make it. She explains that she’s a bartender too and wanted to know the contents of a drink. Considering that is her job to do that research on drinks and I was in the middle of dealing with my 2 year old child who was hungry, I could not entertain the waitresses questions about a drink that I had ordered and she had yet to place it bc she was too busy with making a big deal about me not having time to list the contents of a drink. She took 10 minutes to take a 2 minute order further causing my toddler son’s food to be delayed, making him fussy. This location needs more staff they seemed very stressed out because they were understaffed. Also training on interpersonal skills and product knowledge could help this location’s customer service significantly. As a hospitality employee myself, I don’t know everything but I do my research to learn different drinks and would never argue with a customer about the contents of a drink because I don’t know them. Plus they put my drink in the wrong...
