I’ve donated to this Goodwill store on Calle Ocho in Little Havana a few times, but after today, I won’t be returning. The donation process at this location is truly horrendous—flat-out awful. The staff working in the donation area are completely miserable and make it painfully obvious they don’t appreciate your donations at all. They are totally and completely ungrateful for your donations.
Today’s experience was the final straw. When donating, the elderly man working there took the clothing I brought in, then turned to me and snapped, “What do you want?”—not in a polite or professional way, but in a rude, abrasive, and hostile tone. I asked for "the tax receipt", which is a basic part of the process, and without saying a single word of thanks, he shoved it at me to fill out myself. That was it.
No appreciation, no gratitude, no courtesy—nothing. It’s honestly discouraging to make a generous donation and be treated like a nuisance. If you’re looking for a donation experience where your contributions are appreciated and the staff shows even basic gratitude, this is not the place. It genuinely feels like they don’t want to see you, speak to you, or serve you at all. The entire experience is off-putting and borderline insulting. The staff at this location act like your presence is an inconvenience, and they clearly couldn’t care less about the people or the donations coming in. The staff is completely miserable and ungrateful.
I’ll be donating elsewhere from now on. This place has lost my...
Read moreIt is unfortunate to see how people of this company, profit from the good heart of many people, who make donations to this store, not knowing the high costs that are asked for such articles. Seem to compete with the famous department stores that pay thousands of dollars to their suppliers. When in goowill they are donated items. I refer to the articles of recognized brands that many are difficult to acquire in these shops by department due to its high cost, and we turn to stores 2nd, hand as goodwill where unfortunately the prices are in the clouds. Pants $ 20 and $ 30 Shoes $ 20 $ 40 $ 60 and $ 100 incredibly up to $ 400 a pair of gucci shoes that were donated, and stop counting, it is incredible there is no standard control with these donations.and in one of the humbler neighborhoods of the small Havana nation,...
Read moreI usually enjoy shopping at Goodwill, but my recent experience at this location was disappointing. About 20 minutes before closing, I asked if I could try on clothes. The employee in the photo was very rude, cut me off, and said the fitting rooms were closed—right after I had just seen another customer walk out of one and my friend go into one. She was completely fine letting other people in line go try on clothes, but for some reason singled me out. When I asked her why she was treating me that way, she responded, “that’s just me.” That is completely unprofessional. I understand that fitting rooms may need to close before the store does, but there’s no excuse for the level of rudeness she gave me. Looking at other reviews, it seems this location has a pattern of closing earlier than posted and treating...
