The Margulies Collection is easily my favorite space for contemporary art in the Miami area. There are so many fantastic pieces to see. The focus is mostly large scale installation, sculpture, or mixed media works - easily some of the most memorable pieces of art that I’ve seen. The physical location is also great for exploring the rest of the Wynwood area.
I visited on two separate occasions. The first time the power was out so was only able to view the first couple rooms towards the front. The second time, I was able to view the whole collection. However, it’s not really clear how to the ticket process works - if even still a thing. There was not anyone at the entry when I arrived and after waiting for a bit decided to go ahead and wander around and would get a ticket at the end. Read moreBlown away by this place. Incredible space. When I came across Farm Security Administration (Dorothea Lange amongst the others), Bauhaus and Man Ray's photographs on exhibit I was floored. To see it in person... dream come true. These people were pioneers in so many ways and us new photographers are standing on their shoulders. Very unique and no matter what kind of art you're into, you will find something to challenge and inspire your mind! Bravo...
