German Fest: A Milwaukee Tradition — Attraction in Milwaukee

The Festival wss great, food, friendly, and fun time. The 4 stars is due to my experience upon arrival. We went through security, I was sent, with my clear purse for an additional package check. The two women checking bags were only talking to each other. When it was my turn, I placed my bag on the table, one of the women flipped my bag and pushed back to me. I took my bag back and the woman said something to me. I asked what she said and her comment was "you don't need to SNATCH your bag from.me" . I said I did not. Her comment was you better not have. Seriously, security screeners threatening patrons of the Festival. I think better screening of security personnel is called for, how many other patrons did this woman attempt...

I'm almost embarrased to admit that even though about half my DNA is German, I've never been to German Fest until yesterday. My wife and I had a very enjoyable time, especially listening to the music. A nice variety of foods were available, but generally pricey - as was the beer at $9.00 for a smallish cup. I had hoped for some harder to find German brews. What I saw appeard to be almost all domestically brewed. I'm sure we'll go again...

Love coming here every year! The food and drinks are amazing. They have bands/performers from Germany all day as well. Great time to sit outside on the Lake and enjoy the culture. The Sunday of the festival allows for you to bring a food pantry donation in leu of admission dues. Parking is an additional cost but close to the...
