I go here about once a year for shopping with my friend. We meet up for lunch nearby, and go walking down to Retique. I'll tell u, I can only afford to go once a year cuz I would buy the whole dang store if I could! I've gotten one of my fave pairs of shoes here, a pair of navy suede Clarks boots, that I've had for 7+ years, amongst other good finds. And just today I found a beautiful $200 Michael Kors purse that looks brand new. However, I did have a 25% off coupon for my bday that I was allowed to use, so it came out to about $150ish. I did end up getting other things too, including a cashmere poncho that I plan on using for the upcoming cold weather. They actually had numerous designer cashmere swesters for $30 or less, which I think is a steal. I may have to go again sometime soon, even if it means...
Read moreI actually stumbled across this store on accident a few times when I first moved here. I figured it would probably be a good place to buy used clothes, in case there were no other good places. What I didn't realize was, of course, the fact that it was in the Third Ward, it was less like Goodwill (they're a division of Goodwill) and more like Plato's Closet. It's a pretty small shop, which is typical of Third Ward Milwaukee, so not a whole lot of floor space. I guess this is why it's less of a thrift shop than a used clothes reseller. The clothes range from about ten bucks up. This disappointed me, but one of my friends thinks that this is a great price for used clothes.
The day I was there, I had trouble finding plus-sized clothes. I also had trouble finding anything fun to wear.
All in all, this store...

Emphasis here on clothing and shoes…less so on home goods and accessories, yet there are some available throughout the store. I was really impressed with the clothing selection and the name brands available. I was focused on dresses, and I also wanted natural fibers (cotton, linen, silk, rayon, etc.) if possible. I tried on a number of quality brands including Zara, Brooks Brothers, JCrew, Tahari, Talbots, and others. The store was very clean. The 2 dressing rooms were very nice. The employees were friendly. Prices are a little higher but the selection was much more refined so I understood why. Overall, a great experience and I hope to return again next time I’m...
