My room was quite warm upon arrival, after 24 hours of the AC on high and set to 60, it was a comfortable 71 degrees. The staff was lovely on arrival, I recieved a text to my phone encouraging me to contact them with any needs. I did ask for more coffee, otherwise I was pretty busy with my conference. Room temperature is kind of a first world problem, and the bell man offered to retrieve ice for me, but I felt the refrigerator was sufficient to cool my drinks, and it was. I took a bell cart that I found in the lobby to retrieve my luggage from the car in the parking lot, another guest told me that we weren't allowed to do that (but I was already at my car with it). As I returned, there were bell men present and one quickly offered to assist me with my fully loaded cart to my room. Here's a big concern, though, the hotel anticipated such a busy Saturday morning that they offered an incentive of free coffee and doughnuts along with complimentary luggage check to anyone willing to checkout before 10am. There was no one to help with bags Saturday morning, and remember that guests aren't allowed to use the bell cart? Yeah, 700 plus guests checking out at the same time and nobody working Bell Service, nobody answering the phones for the front desk or bell service or guest services, after 10 minutes of attempting to get on an elevator(limit of 6 persons at a time per car) with half of my luggage, I returned to my room and attempted to call anyone in the hotel for another 10 minutes- very frustrating to say the least. And I missed the first hour of my conference. The kind gentleman from housekeeping took pity on me and helped me to move all of my bags to the elevators and into an elevator. And in the lobby someone else had been allowed to use a cart because she had a large duffel bag, and she let me load my things onto it also. I don't understand why they would have NOBODY scheduled for bell service when they knew the turn around for rooms was going to be so crazy ?!? I didn't even really care about the "additional parking fee" that would be incurred in the last few hours of our conference at the Baird Center by that point.... idk if my company paid for 2 more hours for everyone, or if the hotel came up with coverage for the last 2 hours... but that didn't end up being an issue. Highlight of my stay in the gorgeous historic hotel? The amazingly deep and wide bathtub that let me soak for so long I turned into a raisin... it's been years since I had such a lovely bath ❤️

The hotel is gorgeous, especially the lobby and other common areas. The historic art deco design feels very classy and high-end, but sadly this does not translate very well to the guest rooms. I'm a corporate traveler with Diamond status because I stay in a Hilton property 40-45 weeks a year. I booked a 'king deluxe' for a short two night trip, and I was happy to see a complimentary upgrade to a 'king superior' room before I arrived. I have a significant allergy to feathers, so I always request a feather-free room at booking. The hotel accommodated this request, and all seemed perfect until I got to the room. The room décor was also very nice, but the most notable thing was the blast of cold air I felt when I entered the room. So I punched up the number on the thermostat from 65 to 72, got settled in, and sat down to do some work. Over an hour later, the temp had not moved. I put on my coat and gloves and called the front desk for service. They sent maintenance up right away, and after working on the unit for a few minutes, he said all was good to go. Except another hour passed and the temp had only moved up to 67. I was freezing, so I called the desk again and asked for another room. A few minutes later, I am informed that the only feather-free rooms available are doubles. That's a significant downgrade, so the alternative was for maintenance to bring me a couple of space heaters. Great, fine, it's a short stay and moving rooms is a hassle anyway. Maintenance brings me the tiniest space heater on the market. I can only have one, though, because the wiring in the room is old and there is only one circuit, and using two would likely knock out the power in the room completely. Holy fire hazard, Batman. In the end, the room never got above 70 degrees, and I had to make use of the blanket in the closet that was meant for the sofa bed. While 70 degrees might be the perfect temp for some people, it was not comfortable for me, especially since the outside temps were in the 40s and 50s and I live in Atlanta. The rooms also do not have microwaves or refrigerators, which would be an issue for me if I had a longer stay. Finally, the tech in the room is outdated. The TV lacked any smart features and the remote didn't work very well. While I understand maintaining the historic ambiance, the hotel really needs to invest in updating the heat and air. After reading through the reviews here, I can see it's a very common theme, so I know it's not isolated to the specific room or floor. And after this whole ordeal, the only thing I was offered was a downgrade. Yikes.

Not what I expected. Would not recommend. Disappointment all around. Edit: I was asked to be more specific..... * Double beds. I suppose that WAS on the website so no surprise but you don't realize how awful it is until you experience it. * the sink stopper comes up literally 1 mm which means dont plan on it draining very fast. * the bath drain same. My son, "what the heck I pull it up and it just goes back down". * the heater was so loud that we had to crank it up to 75 then turn it off overnight and let it slowly cool down so it would not keep us awake all night. But the neighbors, unfortunately, did not share the same opinion. * the windows are so thin that (during the winter) it is so cold near them that the room WILL slowly cool down overnight. * there is a view of the parking lot so no need to ever be near the cold window anyway. * the toilet is LOUD and works at about half power of any other toilet I've ever seen. We tried to refrain from having to flush in the middle of the night so we would not wake each other up. Unfortunatly, the neighbors did not share this concept. * they do not trust you with the luggage carts. Frankly this hotel is probably just too huge to have people lugging the carts around. For example, if I have to park on level 6 of the parking garage, there most likely would not be a cart available on every level anyway. And even if there were, it is unlikely that I would trek the 1/4 mile back to return the cart. * no microwave. Little kids normally do not like hotel food so I brought them microwave Velveeta shells n cheese which just sat there all weekend while they took one bite of the restaurant hamburger. * the mini fridge - which are apparently NOT in every room - had both columns of the can holders broken off. * petty warning: for a fancy hotel, the 2 hand towels in the bathroom could match.

To be fair this hotel is in a very old building, so their heat and AC is on a two pipe system so when it gets close to Winter they switch over to heat with no option for air conditioning. When we checked into our room (which we were able to do early) the heat was on for some reason even though it was 60° out that day and the room was 78°. We turned the heat off and opened a window what little bit we could at 10am and the room only cooled off to 73° by 9pm. If they're not able to have air conditioning on I would say that they should not turn on the heat and have it up to such a high temperature when it's going to be a warm day out especially when you're on a higher floor. There was a stain on a towel and a stain on the bedspread when we checked in and there was a hair on the shower or curtain that was not mine. When I called the front desk to ask about the heat I had to sit on hold for about 10 minutes although I do understand that they may have had short staffing so that's not necessarily a fault of the hotel. The room was okay but no refrigerator and the beds were a bit small although it is a two bed room. They have a 24 hour fitness center which is nice but no pool :( The hotel itself was beautiful inside and the service we did get was friendly and helpful and being connected to the convention center was very nice. I don't know that I would want to stay there again other than the fact that it connects to the convention center which is handy but maybe would want to look into a bigger room. The price seemed a bit high for the room we got. We did have a nice view too. It was fun to watch the bridge light up.

A Perfect Stay at the Hilton Milwaukee City Center! I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Hilton Milwaukee City Center, and I must say, it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The hotel’s prime downtown location made it incredibly convenient to explore all that Milwaukee has to offer. From the moment I arrived, the staff’s warm welcome and impeccable service set the tone for a fantastic stay. The check-in process was smooth and efficient, and I was delighted to receive a room with a stunning city view. The room itself was spacious, beautifully appointed, and equipped with all the modern amenities one could need. The plush furnishings and comfortable bed ensured a restful night’s sleep. Dining at the Milwaukee ChopHouse was a highlight of my trip. The savory steaks and fresh seafood were cooked to perfection, and the extensive wine list complemented the meal wonderfully. The Miller Time Pub and Grill was another great spot to unwind with friends and enjoy some delicious food and drinks. The hotel’s historic charm, combined with modern conveniences, created a unique and inviting atmosphere. The fitness center was well-equipped, and the business center provided everything I needed to stay productive during my stay. Overall, the Hilton Milwaukee City Center exceeded my expectations in every way. Whether you’re in town for business or leisure, this hotel offers a perfect blend of comfort, luxury, and convenience. I highly recommend it and look forward to my next visit! I hope this captures the essence of a wonderful stay at the Hilton Milwaukee City Center!
