T.J. Maxx — Local services in Milwaukee

I shop here all the time and I have never had a customer service issue. They recently rearranged things to make the clearance items more accessible, which is nice. Most cashiers are friendly and upbeat, and only once in a great while do I get a cashier who is clearly not feeling it, but even then, nobody has ever been rude or bad at their job. I love the layout of the Ave on the Plankington side and how pretty the architecture was designed around the TJ Maxx space. I sometimes wish the store was still accessible from all of the doors and the stairs going down, but I'm sure there are security reasons that caused that, especially with the homeless situation in downtown Milwaukee. I walked in and was greeted by the woman at the jewelry counter. She was pleasant. I walked around looking for something for my birthday. (It's tomorrow.) I saw a necklace and asked to see it. She measured the chain and I was happy that it was my size. I purchased it. I continue my search for clothing. This is why the four stars. The "PLUS" size? Ugly. Last season flannel and probably nothing anyone would wear in 80 degree heat. (Think Winter) So.. I was disappointed. I did find some sandals but I draw the line at 30 dollars for shoes right now. I spotted a pair of boots that I really liked but they had a defect that I am CERTAIN warranted at LEAST a 10% mark down. Not only is a close friend of mines an associate in another city ( which has made me privy to discriminatory practices in these types of case ) but I shop at this store frequently and consistently. Also, it is very uncommon for me to make these types of request. What I found most concerning is that Dianna ( the M.O.D. on duty) gave me an explanation as to why she couldn't accommodate that made absolutely no sense at all. I understand that these things are left to the discretion of the individual, but I felt totally disregarded in my concern.
