This is a great place to stop and rest during a visit to downtown. It's a newer park so not as many people know about it. I just tell people it's "under Owammi".

Downtown can be a hard place to be when you need to use the restroom. This park has several clean restrooms with individual stalls, and a drinking fountain.

There are a few comfortable chairs inside for you to enjoy some heat / air conditioning. There are also tables outside and the chairs are made of wire mesh, which is perfect on a hot day. The plaza is shaded in the afternoon by the building and a large cottonwood tree.

The building is quite old and there are some old industrial artifacts to see. There is always a Minneapolis Parks staff member present who can tell you about upcoming programming. It also seems to be a meeting place for tours conducted by the National Park Service.

This is my go-to spot when I have...

There are some things to do outside. There were water fountains and a bathroom inside there too. Fridays they have out an activity for kids from 11-1 ish. There were some yard games in a cart, an OK park with a slide that could work for a wheelchair, and you can walk to the national parks booth and part of the lock system from there. Park a car right at the park. We parked in a parking garage a street over and once we turned in couldn’t exit and ended up paying $21 for...

Great park. Great views. The restrooms are clean and they put board games out and cornhole during the summer months. There are plenty of tables to relax at. The park is a vocal point for summer events. You could easily spend a day here relaxing by the river, eating at owami, bringing the kids to the park across the field, and getting ice cream by the bridge. It's a must visit!

This was recommended to me by a local and I am so happy they did! Great nature scape playground (I would say mostly appropriate for 3& up). Lawn games available, lots of shade for seating, bon fire pits for evening and indoor facility was spotless . They had outdoor Yoga the day I went and it was at full capacity. Such a beautiful contribution to the area.
