This is a great place to stop and rest during a visit to downtown. It's a newer park so not as many people know about it. I just tell people it's "under Owammi".
Downtown can be a hard place to be when you need to use the restroom. This park has several clean restrooms with individual stalls, and a drinking fountain.
There are a few comfortable chairs inside for you to enjoy some heat / air conditioning. There are also tables outside and the chairs are made of wire mesh, which is perfect on a hot day. The plaza is shaded in the afternoon by the building and a large cottonwood tree.
The building is quite old and there are some old industrial artifacts to see. There is always a Minneapolis Parks staff member present who can tell you about upcoming programming. It also seems to be a meeting place for tours conducted by the National Park Service.

There were some yard games in a cart, an OK park with a slide that could work for a wheelchair, and you can walk to the national parks booth and part of the lock system from there.
