Ordered takeout yesterday through GrubHub and ordering was very easy, something I’ve done a couple times at this location. Unfortunately there was a mistake in my order, I specified that I wanted extra mushrooms in the Toam Yum soup, instead got extra carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, no mushrooms though. Called the restaurant and had to do a refund on the app. Then called again to get the correct food I wanted, a Toam Yum soup with chicken spice level five extra mushrooms. My order was taken but was not given a time of when it’d be ready. Decided I’ll go pick it up in 20-30 minutes based on the GrubHub. I show up, pay, ask to look at the food and right away it looks different from what it should. The broth was clear (should be red) and fillings were missing except for the mushrooms and chicken. I said that it looked different to the server, she called the manager over and I say the same thing and the manager is condescending to me. Saying “it’s going to look different we don’t make large batches of food” “there’s spice on the side and in the container” “you asked for chicken and mushrooms and there’s chicken and mushrooms”. I said I don’t want to go home and be disappointed being that I went from ordering delivery to driving myself. I go home and low and behold there is no regular fixings. No lime leaves, no lemongrass, no cilantro, but I got the surprise of only chicken, mushrooms and JALAPEÑOS. There is never jalapeños in this soup. To replace it with the regular spices was ridiculous. The container was clear when the other soup made 20 minutes before this one was red. They are supposed to be the same spice and this new one was as spice at as salt (not at all). Only getting 2 stars because the server was at least nice about the situation. Whoever the blonde female manager was that assured this was the right soup, and that this will be a level 5, please retrain the chefs to be consistent with their cooking and maybe when items are specifically when ordering, bold those specifications or highlight them so mistakes...
Read more**NotGood!! Went to have a late lunch today ordered Pad Thai asked for level 4 spice. First off upon arriving into the restaurant , the dining area had a weird smelly stinch to it , it didn’t smell like food it was an old basement smell I can’t describe it. Secondly, I ordered their famous Sue egg rolls, they didn’t taste the same way like years ago, very interesting, it had lots of unseasoned ground beef, it was like they didnt have that delicious Thai flavor like it used to, for those who know , you know. The Pad Thai came out lukewarm and the over all taste was bland , I could see the chilli flakes , but it was not spicy, which was interesting, something was just off and missing , so I asked for the chilli oil rack to ‘doctor’ it up, even the sauces weren’t hot, it was like the oil was watered down , that seemed weird to me that a Thai restaurant wouldn’t ensure spices and flavor are top tier. The taste of the Pad Thai didn’t have the aroma or basic flavors of cilantro, chilli, lime , salt pepper , ‘Thai spices’ , there was a lemon wedge on the side. I dont complain while at restaurants, so I just waited patiently for the bill, and I tipped because that’s what I do and technically I was served by a nice young man (he did his job). I for sure almost gagged but I kept my composure and just boxed over 95% of my meal. This place used to be very unique for their authentic Thai flavors and an arrange of dishes , I hadn’t been here in a while and was very excited but I must say I left disappointed unfortunately, it’s hard times out here and it reminds me to just stay at home and cook up...
Read morewhile the food was good, trying to use a birthday coupon Sawatdee sent me in an email was very stressful. The email literally says "Your birthday treat is available to redeem when ordering in-store from a staff member, or by ordering Online, or through the Toast Takeout App." since we were there in-person, I just pulled up the email for the waitress. she left the table 3 times trying to ask an colleague what to do even though the email was clearly from Sawatdee for $8 off and they could have just typed that into their handheld thing. a different employee came over and was pretty rude/abrupt saying I needed a code to scan, where's the bar code, you can get the discount without something for us to scan. I was trying to say that I was just following what the email said and that there wasn't anything to scan on the email, and she'd brusquely say that she knows there's nothing in the email but I still needed a code... we all ended up clicking multiple things on my phone til a barcode finally appeared for them to scan. I just feel like 1: the thing that you HAVE to scan should be in the body of the email, 2: the wait staff should all be trained on what to do when it's not there, and 3: the staff should be nice when the customer literally hasn't done anything wrong and was just following what was said on the email (which didn't mention anything about something needing to be scanned). made for an awkward moment on...
