The Bazemnt Lounge — Local services in Minneapolis

Super cool venue aesthetic but overall not a great or safe space - I will admit I am not their average demographic as I was attending an EDM event - You can tell the staff are used to dealing with the rude, drunk, hip-hop/latin crowd but that gives them ZERO reason to treat others with unwarranted disrespect. Staff is NOT friendly - they act like pompous security detail with a god complex (from yelling at patrons to sexualizing women) They seem to think they're guarding Beyonce and not a low-tier mpls club. The almost $20 drinks are absolutely RIDICULOUS but the bartenders were nice and hard working. I will NOT be recommending Bazement to my friends

Came this past weekend for Liberian independence celebration and it had to be the worst experience I've had in MN. We have a culture where people forget that those in line you are mistreating are the same people paying you tonight. There is no venue without it's customers. The security were overly agressive to everybody, they spoke and moved so disrespectfully. Cursing and usinf their numbers as a intimidation tactic, while having no regard for the patrons. Me and a friend went out on a Friday night and there wasn’t anyone there at 11:00pm, which isn’t to say anything other then that he got antsy and wanted to leave. The staff let me know it typically gets going around 11:30-midnight! I’m ready to change this review to 5/5 when I get an opportunity to go back myself- the staff was kind, it was clean, great lighting/effects and the DJ + music was great!
