Fun, relaxed, late lunch with colleagues. During my recent trip to Minneapolis, my colleagues recommended the Crooked Pint for lunch and adult beverages. This was my first visit to the Crooked Pint. It is indeed a fun, relaxing atmosphere with diverse menu selections and full bar for adult beverages. My two favorite features of the Crooked Pint was the music and our fantastic, friendly and patient server, Becky! The music was a great selection of classic rock hits from the 70's/80's/90's. This being several of my colleagues first visit, including myself, we had a "million " questions about the menu. Becky was excellent and politely answered all of our many questions and helped us with our menu selection options. The Crooked Pint is, apparently, quite renowned for the "Lucy", a hamburger stuffed with cheese. I had to ask many questions about the "Lucy" as I was unfamiliar with this particular type of burger. In fact, honestly, I had never heard of a Lucy. There are many versions of the Lucy to choose from. I ordered the "Classic Lucy" which is also the featured lunch special on Thursdays. I was not extremely impressed with the classic Lucy. It was served hot and fresh. It was very juicy (ask for extra napkins!!) However, the classic is really a basic stuffed cheeseburger. It was served with no accompaniments. No lettuce, tomato, pickle, sauce, onion, etc. I ordered a side garden salad for my one side item, which turned out to be the best part of my lunch. The garden side salad was really fresh and tasty. Surprisingly, the side salad was a nice size salad which certainly made up for the unimpressive "Lucy". My colleagues and I also enjoyed a "starter" of tater tots. Trust me, these are not your usual tater tots. The tater tots here are large potato orbs, stuffed with cheese and bacon (yummy!) You have my highest and strongest recommendation to try these super size tater tots!! I am not a "drinker", so I am not qualified to give a review of the adult beverages. However, I can tell you my colleagues enjoyed and were very pleased with their choice of beer. From my observations, the bar has a large, interesting, and diverse selection of beers and ale's. The Crooked Pint is a perfect place to meet friends, colleagues or family. The dining room and bar area were very clean. If you're looking for good food, great music and low-key atmosphere, I suggest you check out The Crooked Pint.

Update: I hadn’t gone back for a couple years until the other evening. The Groupon deal and the great location near the stone arch bridge drew me back…. However, I can’t change my rating as the service was still not the greatest and the food was so/so. The beer cheese was extremely over floured leaving a gritting feeling in my mouth, not the usual smooth beer cheese texture. The juicy Lucy was smaller than the bun, and although I subbed out more turkey for no ham on my sandwich, there was still only one slice thick of turkey. I wanted to re-like this place, but unfortunately I will not be back. The upside is, unlike other restaurants in the area, who are charging a 15 to 18% service fee to help offset costs with their employees, my opinion is that they have added it into the price of the food, which lets you know upfront how much your bill will be, which is great. This has been a go to for the past few years… Unfortunately the service has never been something to write home about. I suggest that management teaches a hostess how to seat people coming in as a couple with none of our children in tow we probably don’t want to be seated in the area with a large group with many loud small children! Don’t get me wrong, we have 6 Of our own, but date night is for a reason and it isn’t to watch other people’s children run around screaming and jumping on couches! The food here is typical pub type food. Nothing has even been super great that we leave and tell others about it though. * sadly when you get a burger that should have avocado on it, 2 tiny slivers doesn’t really fit that description! I would expect that a1/4 of an avocado would be more like it!

We stopped for dinner on a Monday night. It was very quiet in the restaurant. We were welcomed immediately upon arrival and seated in the upper area in a booth, the bar right by us. The drink menu is huge- fun to try something new. We ordered the club and juicy French dip. Both were made exactly as requested. I’m not a French fry person usually, but their fries were crazy good. I only got part of my meal eaten before we left. I took a to go box. That night, I ate the other part in our hotel room. The fries were still crispy!! I kid you not, how is this even possible?? I had my hubby try one, I couldn’t even believe it. Yes, they were cold- but they were crispy. Unbelievable. I took away one star, only due to our server. He was nice, personable even. But the place had maybe 6 other tables occupied- including the bar. We never brought me the requested ranch for my fries/sandwich. I didn’t get water until AFTER the meal. So most of the meal I ate without a beverage at all.? As I drank my beer 🍺 early on, finished just after my food arrived. We waited nearly 30 minutes for him to bring us a check. He must have been too busy to really serve us the way we expected. But I don’t want that to take away from the great food. Average price.

This was about to be a 3-star experience. However, the beer and service kicked it back up to a 4. It took a while for someone to actually talk to me and take my order. I had actually considered sitting at the bar because of it. I tried to let this go since once my waitress came around, I didn't have to wait for much. The beers were fantastic. That guava lemonade cider and peanut butter porter are legendary. Here's the part that did bother me. The fries I ordered came out lukewarm (this is an overstatement, they were borderline cool). A hard contrast to the queso con carne lucy, which was hot and delicious. I am not a stranger to an upcharge. But For there to be a 3$+ upcharge to get garlic fries over regular, I expect them to be fresh. They were clearly not. It's not something I need to talk to a manager over, but whatever. Then I had bacon added to my burger. It wasn't crisp. It was slimy and undercooked. Maybe that's just how they do things. The crazy part is the flavors are all there, and I enjoyed my meal, but the execution is just hard to get behind. As a traveler, I don't have the luxury of giving places second chances, but maybe other people will have better experiences

att's Bar (likely) invented the Juicy Lucy, let's just get that straight... but the Crooked Pint might be cookin' up a better one Or 9, because they have an ENTIRE MENU SECTION just for different kinds of Lucys. Nothing cheesy about that except the smile it brings :) Take a peak at this cheese leak Beer Cheese Lucy -- Creamy beer cheese sauce with Grain Belt Premium, served on a pretzel bun, topped with bacon, bistro sauce, haystack onions, and a slice of habanero jack cheese and a side of fries From The Crooked Pint Ale House on Washington and Fifth in Minneapolis This burger might be made of ground beef, but the elevated ingredients take you on a flight to flavor town. Cheese within and atop, good luck trying to stop taking bites! A rich bistro sauce adds to the indulgence, and what would a burger be without bacon and fried onions? Throw it all on a pretzel bun for a fun twist to this novel take on a bar classic This was phenomenal! 10/10. But it certainly requires a strong craving for queso... SO many thanks to my man Andy for bringing us to a bar of benevolent burger-dom! I'd go back more than once for the multitude of creative menu selections

Great place. Low key but very efficient staff. Sports on the screens all around. Very good beer selection. I stopped by as google search indicated they have Juicy Lucy (as a meat-lover from California in the heart of America's beef supply and appreciation, I had to pay hommage to the local classic). Well... Everything on the burger menu is Lucy, and neither says "juicy", so I assumed the latter in every, and got me a Classic. OMG, OMG, OMG. I'll find more words, so look for edit. It takes a really good burger to bring it out just on the bun, without garnish cheese slices, lettuce, onion, pickles, avocado weird kinds of exotic grass, and other c*** served where I come from. I wonder if they deliver across timezones or two... I'll be back! Btw, when they bring the burger, they say "watch out for the first bite" (I might have given out out-of-town vibe :) ) Do, and consider yourself warned. Also, one napkin may not be enough if you are a first-timer.
