I havent been here in quite sometime. Just went about a week ago and YUCK! MoVal mall hasnt ever been overly esthetically appealing compared to many malls. But it was decent. And i know there will soon be major renovations, and most of the mall will be demo'd with new structures to be built, but damn! CLEAN THE MALL! Its not under construction YET, theres still much foot traffic taking place. The escalator is vile. I didnt want to step on the step with shoes on let alone, touch the rails. I dont think the floors are mopped daily. I know malls have janitors who mop up spills all day long. But apparently, that's not important here anymore. I saw 1 lady collecting trash from the stationary cans. She didnt have any equipment for anything else. She didnt even wipe the cans down. Just replace the bags. I wouldnt use a restroom here for ANYTHING. i wasnt brave enough to even look. But if the MAIN floors are filthy, what does the lesser seen areas look like. Most of the stores i went into were ok looking. But i cant say all were taken care of. It says alot about managment and upper level management ability in making decisions. The mentality of ceasing proper upkeep and maintenance because theres major changes coming shows how greed rules this world. If you cant take care of whats in front of you right now, you wont care about whats about to come. Itll be all shiney and new for a minute, but then after time passes, you have garbage once again. If you look at the entire city, it makes sense. Nothing in this city is properly maintained. Where does all the city funds go to anyways? Not where its needed....
Read moreMaybe I am just spoiled by the malls closer to me or maybe what I'm saying rings a bell to others, but my opinion of this mall is that it's just ok. The entire bottom portion of the mall seems pretty normal with your average stores (HotTopic, Box lunch) and so you expect the same for the upper story, however most are small unknown businesses which is not a bad thing; some of these shops have unique items but others have overly priced manufactured items that are poorly made. Now this mall is still very unique with some shops like I have never seen a mall with a goodwill in it and I think that is just amazing to be so inclusive for people that are looking to still have a good time at a mall without needing to spend a lot. Overall I would actually give this mall a 3.5 because I do still come here often for the locations round 1 which I have also left a review for explaining my opinions of. I personally live in an area where my malls have more name brand stores throughout the entire mall with only a few small unknown businesses so maybe I am biased but every time I have ever tried walking this mall I always feel underwhelmed as well as my significant other and other family we have brought along to this location. I...
Read moreI am a frequent visitor to the Mall, due to the proximity to where I stay, however, I honestly only frequent a few retailers. First and foremost is Harkins Theatres. While I'm here, I often pop in to places like Grommet Collectibles, F.Y.E., Spencer's Gifts and the comic/anime guy on the upper level by F.Y.E., mainly to feed my "nerd habit", lol. I occasionally will go to Cinnabon or the food court, but the places I mentioned are pretty much it. If the mall got other types of retailers that I'd be interested in, I'd give it a higher rating, but, honestly, I don't blame the mall. With Amazon, and the dumb direction this country, and retail, is heading, I'm just surprised the Mall is still open. Glad, but still surprised. I'm "old school", and don't want my goods to be shipped to me, which may take days/weeks, only to find something doesn't fit, or I don't like it, then I have to ship it back, ON MY DIME, which also takes days/weeks, hoping that the replacement is usable, when IT comes, days/weeks later. As you can see, I'm not a big fan. I prefer brick and mortar stores, where I can touch things, try them on. Since when have we become so lazy, just for the sake of...
