Please do not get piercings done here!
While I have nothing against this shop or the artists there, I’ve learned that you might be suited getting piercings somewhere else. I got my left nostril pierced, and to keep things short:
The bar was way too short to accommodate for swelling. The material was not implant grade, leading to infection. The jewelry type was a corkscrew (not recommended for the initial piercing), which to make things worse someone seemingly tried to bend/straighten into an “L” shape. The piercing itself was too far back on my nose and crooked. After three days I had to get the piercing removed at a separate studio because it began imbedding pretty bad. I then had to go to urgent care to get a topical antibacterial to fight infection. Note that I did clean the piercing twice a day with saline wash and was very cautious with it as recommended by the initial practitioner. (The practitioner who I saw to get the piercing removed informed me of this information)
I wish I could say this was a one time bad experience here, but I had tried this studio a year or two ago to get a helix and a conch pierced. Those piercings also ended up having to be removed, and were pierced with a hoop which I found out later is strongly advised against for that specific piercing to start out with. I take accountability that I should’ve done more research as I was unaware of this information, but as a client I trusted that the practitioner would know to not do the things that were done.
I know many of my friends and others get pierced here because the prices are more affordable than a typical piercing studio. But it seems like you’re sacrificing quality for money. When it comes to your body there’s no price tag - especially when infection is a risk. And if you can’t afford quality then maybe wait before getting pierced (I should’ve listened to that advice). Also it’s worth noting that I am not one to write negative reviews. I get that running a business is hard. But I emailed the studio prior to writing this, and never received a response. My only regret is not taking photographs prior to removal as proof.
I really just want some form of reimbursement if possible. At least for the piercing itself which was...
Read moreAfter my nose stud fell out and closed up within an hour, I needed to go to a shop to have it re-pierced. I was helped by Mike, who was very friendly and easy to talk to, with a good sense of humor to boot. He listened to my issue and assessed the situation, and I could just tell he was very good at his work. After a few minutes and a skilled hand, Mike successfully re-pierced my nose.
I let him know that the whole reason why I got my nose pierced in the first place was to get a hoop instead of a stud, but the original shop I had went to wouldn't let me get initially pierced with a hoop. Mike informed me of the pros/cons of a hoop and was more than happy to give me one. After looking at the piercing site, however, he let me know that the orientation/placement of it was too high for a normal hoop. After seeing the look of disappointment on my face, Mike took it upon himself to fashion a larger sized hoop, and after taking out the stud, he inserted the hoop and wanted my opinion on it. I was honest and told him I thought it was too big, and that I would be more comfortable with just leaving it as is with the stud. I also suggested that if the original hole was too high, I would be more than happy to get another piercing lower, as the hoop had always been my end-goal in all of this.
Mike agreed that it would be the best option, and he also suggested that I could leave in the stud and have a "double" nostril piercing, with both the stud and the hoop. He pierced my nose quickly and skillfully, and inserted a lovely silver hoop that fit my nose perfectly. I chose to keep the stud in as well, and I could NOT be any more thrilled with the result.
Mike also made sure to tell me about the correct aftercare procedure, and answered all of my questions. Additionally, he was super hygienic and clean throughout the entire process, which is something I truly appreciate. Not only that, but Mike only charged me for the $60 piercing, and didn't charge me the additional $10 for the original re-pierce/adjustment appointment I had initially walked in for. AND he wouldn't take a tip!!! Truly outstanding service, and I will definitely be recommending evolvInk to anyone who is considering body...
Read moreI absolutely love this place! I have come here for years to get my piercings and I got my first tattoo here. However since Mike hasn’t been piercing and has had newer jewelers giving the piercings it has unfortunately gone down hill.
I never had any issues or complaints when I got my piercings from Mike.
The last six piercings I’ve gotten here have all had uses. Two of the piercings are no longer even in. One fell out after being infected, and another one of the piercers took out and gave me a “free daith” piercing for when it heals.
The guy who pierced my septum actually clipped me with the clamps and I was bleeding before I even got the piercing done.
Then three of my piercings that I got about a year ago haven’t been healing. I’ve contacted the store multiple times via Instagram and haven’t gotten responses.
Today I decided to go somewhere else and they told me one of the piercings was pierced crooked so they not only fixed it but also mentioned the reason none of my stuff is healing is mostly because the jewelry that I was told was surgical steel or titanium actually is not. I required that type of jewelry as I’m allergic to pretty much anything else.
The one septum ring I got from them rusted and I asked if this happens if it’s surgical steel and the piercer said yes and still charged me for a new one.
I haven’t seen Mike in forever but I miss when he was in the shop. He was fantastic and I never had one issue with any of my piercings.
He created a fantastic name for himself and I have always highly recommended this place. I hope they can get some staff that lives up to the...
