My recent visit to Ripley's Aquarium of Myrtle Beach was a captivating journey into the wonders of marine life. From the moment we stepped inside, we were greeted with excitement and anticipation, starting with the unique opportunity to have a group photo taken upon entry. It was a fantastic touch, allowing us to capture our memories in a professional-grade family photo, which we later viewed and purchased within the aquarium.
Once inside, we were surrounded by an incredible array of marine creatures, each more fascinating than the last. From colorful fish to majestic sharks, there was something to captivate every member of our group. The variety of animals on display was truly impressive, and we found ourselves marveling at the diversity of life beneath the ocean's surface.
The aquarium is spread across two levels, with each level offering its own unique attractions. The bottom level, in particular, was a hit with the kids, featuring a sprawling playground where they could climb, explore, and slide to their heart's content. It was a welcome break from simply observing the marine life, allowing them to burn off some energy while still being immersed in the underwater world.
One highlight of the bottom level was the opportunity to touch jellyfish in small tanks, providing a hands-on learning experience that was both educational and thrilling. Additionally, the water activity station provided interactive fun, further engaging visitors in the wonders of the aquatic realm.
Another memorable experience was encountering the stingrays in one of the sections on the lower level. Watching these graceful creatures glide through the water was mesmerizing, and the chance to touch them up close was a highlight for my kids. It was a unique and unforgettable experience that added an extra layer of excitement to our visit.
While our overall experience at Ripley's Aquarium of Myrtle Beach was undoubtedly positive, I must acknowledge that the size of the aquarium was somewhat smaller than expected. With only two levels, each of which was relatively short compared to other aquariums we've visited, we found ourselves wishing for more exhibits to explore. However, despite this minor drawback, the quality of the exhibits and the interactive experiences offered made it a worthwhile visit.
In conclusion, Ripley's Aquarium of Myrtle Beach offers a fantastic opportunity to delve into the enchanting world of marine life. From the diverse array of animals to the interactive exhibits and hands-on experiences, there's something for everyone to enjoy. While it may not be the largest aquarium around, it certainly makes up for it with its charm and engaging attractions. It's definitely worth a visit for anyone looking for a memorable and educational experience in...
Read moreI've been to several aquariums before, but this one has to be the most interactive and fun one I've been to! I love that there are photo ops everywhere!
I really enjoy how each area has its own look and it just all flows so nicely. It keeps you intrigued and curious about what you will see next! My personal favorite one was with the penguins!! I really liked that there was a crawl space that leads to a part you can stand up in and you look like you're in there with the penguins!
It was also nice to see that it seems everyone is very well taken care of! I especially was happy to see the area where you can pet the stingrays! Normally I am not a fan of mass public touchings when it comes to animals, but this is one of the first pools I've seen where the stingrays are able to come and go as they please! Of course they're all looking for food so they're not incredibly shy, but even when people didn't have food for them, they were still happy to interact! There was this small super light grey one that seemed to be all about the pets!! That one visited everyone!
I really enjoyed the creativity that went into designing the layout and the overall presentation of each habitat!
Of course my husband and I could not resist getting a souvenir cup!! The slushie was actually so delicious!! But look at those adorable penguin gummies 🥺🥺
I know for sure I will be going back on our next visit to Myrtle! ♥️
Also if you happen to be in the area for a bit and plan to go to the aquarium and are thinking about other activities, I highly recommend purchasing one of their package deals! You will save money! The best part is that you do NOT have to do everything in the same day or even during that vacation! Everything is good for up to a year from your purchase date! I got the aquarium + 3 for about $60 each! The other activities come out to about $15 each if you purchase individually, so you definitely save money with the package deal if you're looking for...
Read moreWe had an EVENTFUL blast taking our daughter here! We purchased tickets onsite. We went for the package deal that included tickets to the aquarium and 3 attractions. Overall, I would say the price for the 3 of us was very reasonable and WELL WORTH the money spent! We filled our day at the aquarium with mermaids, feeding stingrays, dodging sharks 😉 and penguins parading around the aquarium! (Which was cute seeing those little critters wobble around) I personally enjoyed seeing two beautiful mermaids swimming with the stingrays put on a show for all of us( perhaps more that my daughter did, but hey that wasn't a thing when I was growing up so it was soooo adorable!)
The attractions we purchased with our Ripley tickets unfortunately WERE NOT onsite of the aquarium. Matter of fact, I believe Ripley's Believe it or Not attractions were just a couple miles down the road by the beach. You do have to pay for the meter parking, so BRING QUARTERS. But at least all five Ripleys Believe It or Not attractions (I believe to choose from) were all within walking distance of each one.
We went with the Illusions attraction, the Mirror Maze, I believe is what it was and the BEST ONE I think we all enjoyed the most was the HAUNTED attraction!!! The "FBI" agent was just fantastic in playing their role!! However they weren't foolin' my smart cookie! 😉😉
I can't remember what the "agents" name was, but they really made the entire experience EXCITING, FUN AND FULL OF smiles and LAUGHTER!!
Shout out to them!! They know who they are!! They are great!
After leaving Ripleys Aquarium and Broadway at the beach, we were all 3 smiling with warm hearts with our experience we shared today with Ripleys Aquarium staff and Ripleys Believe It or Not staff. We were extremely happy with our purchases! A truly successful memory-making fun filled family day...
