I figured after being surrounded by several premium malls in my home city of Las Vegas, and having visited robust malls around the world, I presumed there wouldn't be any other malls that would impress me...but I was wrong. My family and I decided to visit the Opry Mills Mall on 27 Nov 2024 since we were in the immediate area and I'm glad that we did too. Considering this world seems to be going more towards e-Commerce businesses and less brick-and-mortar stores, I presumed that malls were few and far between these days so whenever I cross paths with a mall still up and running to its full potential, it's awesome to say the least.
This mall offers so many clothes, novelty, food, and entertainment options to its consumers - I was in awe when walking around because of all the stores. I remember walking to what I thought was the end of the mall, only to turn the corner and see yet another corridor of stores. It was impressive to say the least because from the outside, I didn't think this mall would be designed to this magnitude. Now don't get me wrong, this isn't the largest mall in this country (I think The Mall of America takes the crown in that category), but this mall is highly functional and offers a lot of popular stores.
I can't say enough good things about this mall; you'll just need to go visit if you're in the area. Prices are reasonable (conventional mall prices), along with some stores offering "Outlet-centric" prices. The one thing I enjoyed seeing while walking around this mall was people actually walking and talking instead of having their faces glued to their phones while walking. For that entire visit (~90 minutes), I counted a total of three people that were on their phones...which in today's day and age, that is a remarkable number. If you were to visit the malls in my home city, you'd get annoyed because it's literally the opposite. People constantly walk in front of you or about to run into you, and don't say anything because they're so in-tuned with their devices. So I guess the credit should go towards the residents of the immediate area (or Tennessee in general), and not necessarily the mall. Regardless, I highly recommend this mall...
Read moreThe “Security Guards” of Opry Mills Mall are the the most lazy, incompetent, unmotivated, and unreliable group of people I have ever come across. In 3 different situations, that have proven to not be able to secure anything or anyone, they are walking to mall, as if they are brainless zombies. Situation #1: “The Tornado”… security were not able to gain control is of people, once everyone was in the shelters, they did not keep any of the situation calm, they did not relay any information about the tornado to anyone and I even asked one of the security guards what was going on and what did then know about the weather outside, his reply was “Umm.. I’m not sure”. So everyone had to use their own devices to see where the storm was themselves. Situation #2: “The Fight/Shooting”… Once again, security shows me that they yet… knew nothing! People were running and panicking, so I went into a store and the manager locked us all in and we headed to the back of the stockroom. Not know what was going on, I called the security office and asked what was going on, the idiot on the other end said “I’m not at liberty to say”, so I asked him, was it safe to leave or what should we do, his reply was “We’re not sure yet, but if you want to leave, you can. As we went to the front doors of the store, a police officer said for us to get back into the store and don’t come back out. After an hour of us being in the stock room, we called security again and we were then told to “leave if we wanted to”. So I’m going to assume that, the reason why Opry Mills has a high theft rate, is due to security. They should all be let go and allow the real...
Read moreI have been here before and rated it 5 stars. This time, not pleased at all.
It was loud enough that it felt like we were in a packed gymnasium. My parents and I could not hear each other across the table. Dad had to take his hearing aids out it was so loud.
There were no paper menus available. They did provide a tablet, which my Mom had no clue how to use.
We were there on Monday night. We went out of our way to eat here. I wanted Rouladen or Sauerbraten. They were not available. There were no beef meals available. Settled for pork. Not happy.
Food FINALLY arrived, the pork was hot, the spaetzel was COLD.
Also, why do the beef meals come with 2 sides and pork with only 1 side, when they are the same price? Also, why does a little bowl of red cabbage cost an extra $4?
Sadly disappointed.
Suggestions: Section off a small part of the HUGE rom to make it a quieter place to enjoy a decent dinner. Stock up on beef. I was 8 hours from home and made a special trip to enjoy a nice meal. Serve hot meals HOT. Provide paper menus for the people with the cash to pay, but not the technology skills! Just because we were not drinking, we should have had better customer service from our server.
Thank you to the manager for listening to...
