Drove there in heavy rain the visibility was zero. I pulled into the 1st parking lot that I saw did not know that it was about 6 blocks from the Ryman. I Got there late got scanned by security, and shown to my seat by a very helpful lady who worked there. When I needed to go to the bathroom she walked with me and my support puppy (in my backpack.) And showed me back to my seat. That was my first time at the Ryman I was row 5 u section. It appeared packed but I could see the guys head in front of me. I guess the show used a smoke machine It kept me from actually seeing TomJones. The Music was so loud it caused heart palpitations and lights so bright it hurt my eyes. The gentleman that I sat next to said that the bench was hurting his back problems. I offered to let him set on my raincoat. I asked several passersby people how to get to the Ryman most had to Google. The homeless and young man were very kind to me when trying to find my car. The Policeman that I spoke to for help at shift change said that he would send some one to me at the bus stop in front of Chase Bank they never came. When I called back I talked to a female she said that she would try to get someone to help me. Anyway after walking up and down all over and 6 pay parking lots. I prayed and God helped me find my car it had a hundred dollor plus ticket on the window. Maybe better signage for your down town streets would help the next old lady who wants to come see her long time favorite entertainer...By the way Sir Tom Jones was still the greatest of all time with his priceless oldies and alot of new music !!! ❤️ after I got back home to Georgetown Tn the female officer or dispatcher called to check on me and I appreciate that.It was great to visit the landmark. RYMAN Auditorium. I am sure my next experience will be better after the lessons that I learned. ❤️ A...
Read moreOne of the worst experiences I’ve had at a concert. I was on the floor and couldn’t see ANYTHING because I’m short and the people in front of me were not only super tall, they had phones and light sticks in the air the entire time.
The entire left side of my bench was empty so I scooted over some to the left so I could see through peoples shoulders. Security not only came twice, they came three times and were extremely rude in the way that they spoke to me.
One guard (a woman) aggressively approached me and demanded I show her my ticket (I had 4 seats). She was extremely rude and told me to move back to the right (again there was no one to my left).
I scooted over like she asked, and then she skipped the white woman to my right who was also in the wrong seat ( I know this because she is my friend and was with me) and she then immediately began to aggressively question the black girl to my friend’s right.
I understand enforcing rules, but if you’re going to do that you need to do it across the board and question everyone in the row not just pick and choose and only harass the people of color. Plenty of other people were also in the aisles and I didn’t see anyone else being harassed or asked to move.
And because that wasn’t enough, when the group went around the the venue at the end of the show saying hi to their fans (probably my only chance to actually see them since my concert view was completely obstructed) the male security guard shoved himself in my row and not only blocked me in, he blocked my entire view so I didn’t get to see them come around at all. They were allowing everyone else to interact with the group so not sure why again I was the only one that wasn’t even able to see them.
It was a complete waste of money and I will not be booking any other shows...
Read moreMy husband, kids, colleagues and groups that we have brought to the Ryman over the years have thoroughly enjoyed it every time. I never thought we would write a review like this one. If you plan to attend, you will be better off purchasing your tickets online. Our box office experience with Nikki and Jeannie was the most uncivil as it gets. Please do not ask these ladies about the tour because you will be told the information is above your head on the screen. Since we have been several times over the past 2 decades, our oldest daughter wanted to see about getting married there. She and her friends have seen many shows here, she loves the Ryman. My husband who is battling cancer along with myself have a soft spot in our hearts for the Ryman. To met with such ugliness, was so saddening. We ended up not purchasing tickets, why would people come to the Ryman if they are going to be talked to in such a manner??! Needless to say, we did not purchase tickets as these ladies left a bad impression! Do understand, we still love the Ryman building and it is very much a part of Nashville and something to be seen. It would be best to purchase online rather than deal with them. I have already made plans to cancel an order or two. We did not even ask about renting space for a wedding, we know dates are not always available, even if they were we would rather spend money elsewhere now. You all should know that when your patrons are met with attitudes such as these two, it leaves an impression and not a good one. I emailed and have received no response whatsoever. Going to contact some other group leaders, maybe they would rather go to another venue while in...
