Very disappointed in our visit. We intentionally came late to the museum, a little after 4pm. We only wanted to see the Dolly Parton exhibit and maybe Elvis if there was time. When we purchased our tickets the gentleman told us the closing time was 5pm then directed us to the exhibit. When we reached the entrance to the exhibit elevator another gentleman told us the closing time was a hard 5pm. Once we got upstairs, we were greeted with another usher letting us know the exhibit closed at 5pm and to be mindful of the time. We went to see the Dolly exhibit. It wasn’t extensive so took us 15-20 minutes max and 30 minutes before 5pm. As we were leaving the exhibit the same usher told us the museum closed at 5pm. Mind you…there may have been 6-10 other people that looked at the Dolly exhibit while we were there so you would think the lady remembered instructing us of the closing time, but yet she told us again. Once we entered the hallway looking at a few other exhibits another usher instructed us of the closing time. I went on to see the Elvis exhibit but my husband stayed behind to look at the exhibits in that hallway. That same usher reminded him 4 other times about the closing, giving him a 5 minute countdown for the next 20 minutes. At that time I rejoined my husband and as we were waiting for the elevator we were told AGAIN by the woman at the Dolly exhibit that the museum closed in 10 minutes and wanted to know where we were going! It was such a frustrating experience my husband went and asked for our money back. We had been there for 45 minutes and harassed the entire time. The employee he spoke with did return his money without an apology or being gracious at all. We have never felt so unwelcome. We are respectful, intelligent people and understood that the museum was closing and we were still willing to pay the $60 to see the SMALL Dolly exhibit. We should have been given the chance to enjoy the museum WITHOUT bring harassed. I love Dolly Parton and the ushers and their insistance in telling us they were closing at 5pm totally ruined my anticipated visit to honor her. We won’t ever go back and will tell everyone I know going to Nashville to skip this venue....

Read moreThis is an incredible museum, a three floor space with so much of country music’s history, highlights and accomplishments. One the first floor, they have the ticket booth, the museum store and a theater. Lines stars to get long around 11am. When we went tickets were around $32 for museum only, and $55 for Studio B package. Studio B tour is highly recommended. Tickets were good for whole day, they allowed going in and out of the museum, that was unique and so considerate of them. The store so many wonderful country music themed products, souvenir items with music legends images, and even a guitar try out area. On the third floor, they also had an arts and crafts area for guests to design their own paper guitars with props.
The museum tour begins on third floor. Right in front of the entrance they had the Taylor Swift special section. We loved seeing some of the items from her Eras Tour. The section had so many other cool things about TS’ life and her achievements in country music. The hallway then taken you along the timeline of country music starting from early 1900s. Several artists, singers, groups are highlighted for their contribution to country music in different decade. The path leads lead to a huge hall where so many vinyls are placed in a giant wall for all the songs that became gold, silver and Platinum hits. It was one of coolest part of the museum.
On the second floor they have the giant hall for the hall of fame inductees. Each hall of famer has a placard dedicated to their name with a short summery of their contributions and achievements. It was so much to take in for the 1-2 hours I spent in museum. I knew some of the legends, but I got to learn about so many others. It was an amazing museum experience for me. All the stuff members were extremely friendly and knowledgeable. No doubt this is a must see destination when...
