Had a great time here on May 26th, 1995. It was the night after my step brother James & I had a freaking blast at the outdoor Tom Petty Concert at Starwood Amphitheatre the night before. On this, a Saturday evening I believe I ran into my cousin Brittany Banks, on Honky Tonk Row as she was there sight seeing with her parents after having gone to see and meet her favorite band, The Okridge Boys on the same Friday night that we had saw Tom Petty (who remains one of the best shows I've ever been to). At the concert my older brother James was so wasted he kept walking the wrong way to the truck when our parents came to pick us up. At Tootsies we had even more fun. We didn't eat, I don't think so anyway. It's possible we shared an appetizer but I just remember having drinks when James clearly was reaching his limit. Therefore we had to have another so that he would be brave enough to do karaoke like he very much did this night. He took the stage and dad was immediately placing $20s on our table, directly in the front and center of their stage. He was sure James was gonna pass out before he was able to finish whatever song he aimed to sing. When the music began and he went to doing his best drunken Hank Jr, wailing Family Traditions until the very end. Upon finishing the last note as everyone started clapping and whistling, he fell off stage and over the table where what would of been easy money had I taken the bet lay. Neither he, anyone else, or the microphone which squealed as it fell along with him, had any injury. I believe everyone was feeling to good to get hurt. Love the history and signatures here....
Read moreWhat even is a lounge? Well, glad you asked.
A lounge is a place where you can relax and unwind, or, if you're feeling particularly fancy, "lounge." It's like a comfy, cozy haven away from the hustle and bustle of the world. Imagine a room filled with plush couches, soft pillows, and maybe even a fireplace. It's the kind of place where you can curl up with a good book, sip on a warm beverage, or simply do absolutely nothing. However, lounges are also known for their intense laser tag battles. The soft furnishings and cozy atmosphere create the perfect environment for a thrilling game of laser tag. Just imagine dodging lasers while lounging on a plush couch, or using a pillow as a shield. It's a truly unique experience. There are different types of lounges, too. You might find a lounge in a hotel, where you can relax before or after your flight. Or, you could stumble upon a trendy cocktail lounge in the heart of a bustling city, where you can sip on exotic drinks and listen to live music. And then there are the more casual lounges, like the one in your living room, where you can kick back and watch your favorite TV show. So, in essence, a lounge is a place where you can escape the stresses of life, put your feet up, and simply be. It's a sanctuary, a haven, a place to recharge your batteries. Or, if you're feeling particularly dramatic, it's a place to "lounge" and engage in intense laser...
Read moreAlthough the music was amazing, I just wanted to provide some feedback on my experience. Basically, I felt like I was a victim of targeted racism, and your staff had failed to intervene. An English speaking lady jacked my partner's seat while he was still sitting in the seat. She aggressively sat in the seat and basically pushed him off. My partner and I are of visible minority (Asian) and I felt like this was a targeted event. When I informed her that she had taken my partner's seat, she told me she "could not understand me" numerous times and pretended like she did nothing wrong. This all happened in front of the bar/bartenders, which made me feel extremely uncomfortable as I felt like she was being racist and that the staff should've intervened. Just so you know, I am third generation Canadian born Chinese, and work as a registered nurse in the most multicultural city in North America (Toronto), where I work with a lot of new immigrant families who have never had any problems understanding my English, so I don't see why she would have trouble understanding me. As one of the most famous bars in the USA, I would've hoped for a more cultural safe, inclusive environment and that your staff could be trained for these situations of targeted racism. I had also e-mailed the organization about this incident, back in April and have not received...
