First I want to start with saying that the place in general is awesome. I went there a couple times and loved it. My reasoning why I'm rating this bar to be a 1 star is strictly because of the bouncer in front of the door. This man refused to let me in because he "didn't like my ID" I said hello and gave it to him like he asked and he looked at it for a couple of seconds then started picking at it. I was confused but kept my mouth shut then a good minute went by and he continued to pick at my ID So I asked him what was wrong he then gave me my ID back and said I don't like it, you can't come in. So since I am freshly 21, my birthday was almost a month ago at this point I got a little annoyed since I am excited to finally be able to go out and have fun, but I stayed calm and said to him, what do you mean you "don't like it" it's real, my bday was a couple weeks ago and he doesn't even look me in the face and just shakes his head and says "I don't like it" so now I'm pissed because a friend of mine and myself came to this bar because 1 we loved it there and 2 we came for that band that was playing that night. So then I said to him well why don't you scan it, it's real and he refused, so I began to walk away. As I was walking away I realized that this was ridiculous that I never bought a fake ID like every other young kid in the world does, I waited till I was of age so now I was ready to drink whenever and wherever I wanted to because I am of LEGAL AGE and my ID clearly said on it "under the age of 21 till...(then it stated my bday which I do not wish to disclose on here) which any smart human being would realize that if That ID was fake why would it even mention "under 21 till..." When a young kid is trying to get away with under age drinking why would they purchase a fake ID that even had words saying "under age" on it at all, thats right, they WOULDNT! so I turned around and said to him, can I speak to your manager, then he puffed up his chest to me and got real close to my face and looked down at me and said, I'm "head of security" here so I am the manager, now I'm pissed because this man was probably about 6 foot and I'm about 5 foot nothing so there was no reason for this "macho" man to be puffing his chest at me or getting close to my face, acting like a little girl like me could have been any threat to him, so then I said oh okay well then you must not know what a jersey liscence looks like because this is real and he said oh yes I do I see them all the time. I'm sorry but clearly he doesn't see REAL ones all the time then because REAL New Jersey liscence all look the same. I myself have been a bartender for over 3 years now and a waitress 4 years before that so I know what it's like to get fake IDs thrown at you and I know the proper way to tell if the ID is fake or not this man clearly does not. Also whenever I have turned down IDs that were fake I proved to the customer how they were fake by my KNOWLEDGE on the difference between a fake ID and a real ID and clearly this man has no knowledge what so ever on this subject because his answer for not letting me in is "I don't like it" so then I proved a point to him and said, if my ID was a fake don't you think I would have walked away? Anyone that try's to get in or get served with a fake and gets caught doing it walks away because they know how much trouble they can get in so clearly if I'm arguing with you sir that should prove to you that my ID is NOT fake. Then he continued to act like a tough guy and told me he will only tell me one more time to leave, so assuming he was either going to man handle me or call the police I decided to just be the bigger person and walk away. So therefore because of this "head of security" that this man claimed to be I will never go back to the stage ever again. Oh and Side note, so no one gets confused on which bouncer it was because EVERYONE ELSE there is very nice, he was about 6 foot tall, slender, wears a tan cowboy hat, tan boots, blue jeans, and a black stage t-shirt with a big douche bag look...
Read moreFaith the bartender is 5 stars... she made our experience great until the bouncers came around at 7:00 pm. We were on the ground floor at the back of the bar. They came and wanted our barstools. My husband had knee surgery recently and needed to sit. The one bouncer took my barstool but the other bouncer came and said that isn’t how we work.. everyone at the bar has to give up their barstools. We asked Faith and she even said that it wasn’t right... we spent and would have continued to spend money but this bouncer could care less about the customer and more about getting one more person into the bar. As soon as my husband heard this he didn’t handle this in the most professional way. He said here is your barstool (in colorful language) which he knows wasn’t the best way. But for the bouncer to say doesn’t matter that you have a disability isn’t quite right. It’s obvious that this establishment doesn’t care about people who have those types of disabilities. Again we were at the back of the bar area and the atmosphere and Faith the bartender was amazing but to be told we weren’t welcome because of our disability will be something that we will report. We tried to communicate this to the establishment with...
Read moreHere is what I have figured out from this place. They purposely keep the line out the front door to draw the illusion that the business is packed. Once inside, it was far from being packed/slammed.
I did have an overly attentive bartender that was towards the back. We listed to a band that was up on stage during 10 pm time. Needless to say, where the country music was, I have absolutely no idea. They came off stage and we waited the typical 40 minute change out time that all of Broadway takes from 1 band to another band. I did manage to go upstairs and observe what was going on the roof top portion of it. I did notice, it was slightly more busier up there, but you were still able to move around without issue. Stayed up there, listed for a few songs, until the band thought it was a good idea to play Back Street Boys music. Came back down stairs and observed they were playing music, but someone forgot to include a fiddle player in there set. The music was truly all over the lot and not sticking with one type of music.
It has been a while since I visited this bar and it will probably be a while again. Can someone please let the bands know that they are in Nashville, a country market, and not a...
