Dear Moxy, my wife and I stayed at your Downtown Nashville location and we did not have the best experience with our room or customer service. After a long day of touring the town and kicking off our best friends 40th birthday celebration we were pretty excited to spend some time in our room. With much excitement I jumped unto the bed and immediately regretted it. A foul smell pierced my nose. I couldn’t believe that what I was smelling was urine. I decided to pull the comforter back and the smell got stronger, I proceeded to remove the sheets and I gagged. The topper was soaked in urine and so was the mattress (video available upon request). I contacted the front desk immediately. The agent that answered the phone said he was sending someone to take care of the issue for us. Mins. later a maintenance person shows up with new sheets. I explained that sheets would not be the best solution for our issue and he agreed he said he would ask them to get us another room. I called the front desk as soon as the gentleman left and expressed that the sheets would not be a fix because the mattress was soaked and still wet. The maintenance person came up again and apologized because they asked him to just help us change the sheets since hotel was sold out. I asked the maintenance person if he would sleep on that bed after paying $300+ a night and his words were “f#*% no that’s bull s&$@!” And we agreed. Did I mention this was after 12am. The front desk staff were no help. My wife spent about 20-30 mins calling hotels around town for room availability. Out of all the hotels she called only one answered and was able to accommodate us but not for cheap. We took the room because we were out of options and it was getting late. As we were leaving a second front desk agent checked us out was shocked after hearing our story and let us know there was still nothing more they could do but a manager would be contacting us to smooth things over (this did not happen). The following day, Heaven called to help us get the refund taken care of. She was very apologetic and sincere. She was surprised to hear that the two strong gentlemen on duty didn’t offer to get us a new mattress. Because that’s what was done the following day. My wife and I have never experienced anything like this before and we were super pumped to stay in a Moxy for the first time (not a great first impression) We both understand that stuff happens and is out of our control. At the very least staff could have helped us find a hotel/uber anything to make life easier but no we got sheets! Still waiting on Andrew Hutto’s call… what’s really bad is this incident took away from anything positive that happened while we were there that night. Food and drinks we solid and the rest of the facility seemed like a vibe bummer we didn’t get to fully experience what the hotel had to offer. My advice, if you care to have it is to put more money into customer service training for staff and hopefully when this happens to someone else they will have a better solution other than bringing new sheets for a...
Read moreMy wife and I go to Nashville about twice a year. We have stayed here before but only for a night. This time we stayed for 7 nights. At over $300 a night, If you are wanting all the creature comforts that normal hotels have, move on. This is a place to sleep and you gotta work if you need more than that. Here is what I like about it. It is on the strip, so once you are about to pass out from drinking all day, you are only a short stumble to your room. Also, they always have a singer in the lobby so if your just close to passing out, but not quite done, you can always chill in the lobby for one more drink. The hotel is pretty new, so it is pretty clean. Here is the bad. They must have a lock on how low you can put the temperature of your room. We set it to 66 but the room never got any colder than 70. Sometimes at night it was up to 72 so we were hot all night and woke up sweating. House keeping is "on demand" they will not clean your room if you do not specifically request it. I had to request it twice, because nobody cleaned it the first day that I asked. The toilet seat was broken in the room we had. (not fall off broken, but not attached properly and would slide around) The roll of toilet paper on the actual dispenser had gotten wet before we checked in and god only knows what from, we had to use the other unopened roll on the counter. The rooms do not have an ironing board and iron, the hotel has a community ironing room. They have one iron and no boards. The first time I stayed there, they had an ironing board, this time, they had a table with towels over it. They have a water station to fill the iron with water for steam, but it didn't work. You could hear it clicking, but nothing ever came out. the table to iron on is square so you cant easily get a shirt on it properly to iron it and the towels are just laid there so they keep flipping up when you move the shirt and making a bump under it. the room does have USB ports, but the ones on the right side of the bed did not work. They have what they call a rooftop bar, but the bar is inside and they have a tiny little area that has about 4 tables and tiny stage outside. The restaurant prices are comparable to fine dining. 4 drinks, and a shrimp cocktail almost $200. (4 shrimp for $25) Nashville is expensive, but you can go next door and get a full meal for less. (on the bright side, door dash gives you lots of options just pick it up at the check-in area in the lobby. They will tell you that you get a complimentary drink when you check in, but don't be misled, this is either a Bud Light or some fruity drink that has almost no...
