We had made reservations through an app, thankfully, as there were many staying at this hotel. We had cats traveling with us, and we were a bit surprised by the neighborhood within which this beautiful hotel is situated. We were immediately concerned as we had a U-Haul and numerous things with us. The concern dissipated as soon as we phoned the front desk. We were told that we could park directly in the front, without needing to use the parking garage or valet parking. Both would have been odd, as a vehicle with a U-Haul would not have fit in the parking garage and if valet parking planned on keeping our vehicle in the open, we would have felt very uncomfortable, as it contained valuables. I phoned the front desk with my quandary, and they immediately allowed us to park in front of the hotel. This was phenomenal and perfect! My husband checked us in and paid our pet fee, a $75 nightly fee per/pet which is not a recoupable fee. Traveling with multiple cats is a task in itself particularly when one has a long drive ahead of them and behind them. It is a one-time non-redeemable expense. One can pay hundreds of dollars before even paying for one's room. We had two rooms booked, as I believe their cap is at 2 dogs/cats per room. They have an opulent foyer and entry area with enormous chandeliers and lamps hanging from the ceiling. There is an enormous juxtaposition between the hotel's lobby and the neighborhood where it was built. Their artwork is primarily modern and a bit eclectic. That is not normally my style, although it appears to work nicely in this very large space. We needed two rooms and, we were fortunate enough to have pre-booked both of those rooms. This was quite a busy hotel, although it was not overly noisy. In the lobby, they have a leather yellow chaise lounge, which is quite modern, but very beautiful, which I liked greatly! I wouldn't have minded taking it home. I was not going to be taking home another company's couch, although I enjoyed admiring it. They have very classy floor-to-ceiling windows, which encompass most of one side of the hotel building. There is also a small space, around the corner from the main reception area, they sell souvenirs such as postcards, and key rings, as well as small quantities of food and drink. Also, edible items such as Macaroni and Cheese, Campbell's Soups, and popcorn for those who are, temporarily, making this their home. There is a small microwave, where one can heat these items if they are purchased. They offer numerous other food items, for purchase. They accept pets here, although the most that they offer are some dog bones and cat treats which are kept in a glass container. This can become costly quite quickly. Ensuring a comfortable and enjoyable experience for all hotel guests is the priority. A standardized system for verifying prior animal stays could be beneficial. This would allow hotels to maintain records of animals' behaviors and preferences. This would streamline the check-in process for guests with or without animals. Creating a consistent experience across different hotels would enhance guest satisfaction. I certainly am not the entrepreneur who is going to dole out passports with pet photos, verified by veterinarians, although I was quite surprised at the number of individuals who enjoy traveling with pets. Our circumstances did not offer numerous options, yet one can easily accrue a large bill over a distance of 3000 miles. They do offer stairs and an elevator system. Also, they have a printed menu that displays the soup of the day as well as other appetizers and items on their menu. They have an area where they sell chilled drinks, and alcoholic beverages as well as tourist items such as souvenirs, postcards, and sweatshirts. This is offered in the lobby at the store called " The Shop." They also offer chilled beverages and numerous other foods. They have a TV in the lobby, which seems to be aimed at children, and posters that highlight the live events ( music ) in Nashville, Tennessee. Their rooms are...
Read moreWe visited this location during a girls trip in downtown Nashville.
First impression was valet — we were not greeted by any attendants and no one came to help with our bags. They took 20 mins to pull the cars around and park them. The attendant would just walk around holding the keys for like 15 mins. Other guests also expressed concern for the security of their vehicles just sitting in front of the hotel waiting to be parked. They also agreed that some of the valet attendants were rude and unprofessional. Not at all worth the $61 per day that it costs to park in valet.
Now the rooms — Standard “executive” suite. The couches were busted open and worn down. The pillows had mold on them with new pillow cases to try and cover it up. Unimpressive. Also the “executive lounge” on the lobby floor is a shoebox with chips & salsa, sodas, dry nuts, and nutrigrain bars. Very low budget and unimpressive. I personally witnessed guests walk in and immediately leave disappointed.
Now the service — The manager on duty during our stay was Tony Dutta, for reference. The housekeepers are all foreign. Not sure if they didn’t speak English or if they were just blatantly rude but they ignored us several times when we spoke in the halls or asked questions. If you work in the hospitality industry in America, you should be able to speak basic English and communicate with guests in a cheerful and polite attitude. Not at all what we experienced.
We asked for a new pillow to replace the moldy one and waited an hour before we got it. Called down and asked for towels, had to call twice and waited over an hour. Went to the desk and asked the manager (Tony) directly for more tissue paper and he said he’d send it up. We waited an hour and had to call and remind him to send it up because he hadn’t yet.
We didn’t even bother with room service, which after all that we experienced so far, was sure to be disastrous and a waste of money.
Redeeming quality is the location — the hotel is right on the corner of Broadway and a short walk away from the Food Assembly Hall and all of the shopping/dining areas. (Keep that in mind if you need peace and quiet to sleep because all of the clubs are right next to the hotel so there will be music and lights all night.) Literally the only saving grace about this place was the convenient location…
…and it still isn’t enough to make us EVER visit again. The Grand Hyatt Central may not have the location but we’d rather stay in a reputable, clean hotel with luxury amenities and the excellent standard of service that...
Read moreI only have 1 positive thing to say about this hotel and that is the only helpful and positive experience I had here was with the guys at the bell desk. Other than that I had a horrible experience with this Hilton before I even arrived. First of all, they literally sold my room (which I had booked 7 months prior) because I did not check in before 6PM, how this even makes sense when check in begins at 4PM? Plus, I had contacted the hotel multiple times (including day of) stating I had a late flight and wouldn't be checking in until midnight which they said was fine. It wasn't until I was sitting on the plane on my way to Nashville when they told me the sold my room and that my entire reservation was cancelled. Which tells me the sold my room to someone else for more money, talk about shady. I scrambled and booked at a different hotel for the 1st night so that we wouldn't be homeless upon arrival in Nashville (a new city to me which I knew very little about). Later, I saw there were still rooms available at this Hilton for the rest of my trip so I rebooked which I wish so badly I never did because the hotel front desk did nothing to make up for the fiasco the day before, the hotel room was awfully laid out and the night club a block away literally shook our room with bass till 2AM every night - so if you do choose to stay here do not stay in a room on the Bridgestone stadium side. There were no robes or amenities that really stood out, the only positive thing is that you could walk to Broadway and Nissan stadium. Other than that the hotel was very outdated. I wish we would have just stayed at the Embassy Suites instead which is where we went the first night or at the JW Marriott where we had a fantastic dinner - both less expensive hotels mind you. This Hilton is extremely overpriced for what it is (I paid $2500 for 3 nights and feel completely scammed). I will never understand how this hotel is even considered a 4 star hotel. Trust me when I say - STAY...
