Four of us went to see The Fab Four: The Ultimate Tribute perform here. Overall, the Schermerhorn is an upscale venue with good acoustics and pleasant atmosphere. The facilities are clean and kept up well.

The seats are fairly typical of what's expected in live theater venue and were comfortable, with a cupholder available on the seat in front of you. Rows and seat numbers were well-marked and easy to find.

Bathrooms were downstairs and were easy to find. They were clean and a little on the upscale side, as well.

During intermission you can get refreshments, including alcoholic beverages with a fairly well-stocked bar for the small space that it occupies. However, be prepared to pay some pretty high prices here. I paid $5 for a 20-oz. bottle of Diet Coke.

Vendors of t-shirts and CDs camp out at simple tables placed just outside the entrance to the theater area itself. Facilities for transactions were very bare bones. Items were cash only and the vendors had no bags in which to carry your purchased items while you watched the show.

The ticket-takers and ushers were very pleasant and ready to be helpful. You barely had to approach them and make eye contact for them to offer assistance, which was a refreshing and welcome experience.

The acoustics were very good, although not the best I've ever heard. We had just seen another Beatles tribute act, Rain, at the Belmont Fisher Center, and the sound was stellar and perfect. I'm not sure if the difference comes down to the act itself and the sound engineers they may have provided, or if it was the venue itself, but because we have heard better, I'd rate the sound of the performance we saw here 4 stars out of 5.

I would recommend the Schermerhorn as a good venue at which to see a show, and I would come here again to see other...

I recently went to the Schermerhorn to see Lyle Lovett (acoustic show). I sat in the front, in one of the Founders Box seats to the right and just above the stage. The place is absolutely gorgeous! I'm not sure that the acoustics wouldn't have been better, though, if I had been sitting in front of the stage instead of over it. I was happy to find out that there was a separate bar for the area in which I was seated, so I was able to purchase a glass of Cabernet prior to the show. They do allow guests to take drinks with them to their seats - in the glass - if seated in one of the Founders Box seats. That was really nice, because there are small tables between seats there, making it very comfortable. There were no lines waiting to get in, no rushing, no loud noises, no obnoxious people--no problems at all associated with my visit. It was a complete pleasure from start to finish. My only disappointment was that they don't allow guests to take photographs. As I am an amateur photographer, I would have loved to have taken some shots of Lyle and the band from my...

The excellent - Went for a rock concert and the sound in the building is as near perfect as I can imagine. Beautiful interior. The good - The band had a stage design the made it impossible for concert goers who bought tickets in the orchestra to it there. The Symphony ticket sellers did the right thing and sent out notification two days prior to the concert, reassigned people to other good seats, and also compensated fans by inviting them to the band's sound check. The bad - Ticketmaster. Those like me who bought tickets through Ticketmaster weren't so lucky. Notification was emailed a few hours prior to the concert, during typical work hours for most adults. I did not know about the change until I arrived for the concert. My new seats were as far from the stage as was possible, and the band were tiny little figures a thousand feet away. I believe the late notification was by design, to limit profit loss from refunds. Bottom line -if you go for a concert, I highly suggest you buy tickets directly from the Symphony ticket office and not through...

This is one of the most beautiful venues in Nashville. Unfortunately, the two rock concerts I have seen here (Johnny Lang and the Hendrix Experience) both suffered the same problem: far too much volume. Now let it be known I am a rock guy. I like loud. But if it comes to the middle of the show and you can no longer make out nuances, it is too loud. The shame is, both concerts are the kind you would want to get nuances. Now the venue itself is lovely. For the first show we sat in the middle about 10 rows back. Very comfortable and the view was good. For the second, we were in one of the side box seats. While the experience was enjoyable of having your own private balcony, I did find the view a little challenging at times, and the sound was probably actually worse for this style of concert. I will make it a point to update this review if we are ever fortunate to attend a show more well suited for the venue (Orchestral or maybe Jazz).

A beautiful, elegant venue set in the heart of Nashville, the Symphony center is a truly wonderful place to go to a concert in. Between the rich wood and stately stone pillars and walls is a beautiful concert hall. It is rectangular to accommodate balls, and the acoustics are great every time I have been. I have seen two concerts here, and both were phenomenal. There are two small bars outside of the entrances to the main room, and serve refreshments you can take in to the room. An amazing organ is located on the wall behind the performance stage, and chandeliers hang from the ceiling far above. I highly recommend this venue, and more importantly listening to the Nashville Symphony! A great group in a great venue right downtown. Note: the pictures below are simply whitebalanced differently. The actual color of the room is somewhere between, a warm white.

Stunning building and experience. I’ve only been once, but can’t wait to go back. The building is architecturally beautiful inside and out. They seem to have indoor and outdoor lounge areas and concessions. Inside the performance area there is a large stage with an organ and seating for a choir and of course the symphony. I sat in the front orchestra floor section and the seats gave us a stunning and close view of the performance. Highly, highly recommend visiting. The building is located just off the downtown broadway strip, which gets rowdy at night and likely causes uber/lyft prices to soar. I recommend parking in the Library garage ($10 after 5pm) and walking. Although I think the building has an onsite parking garage ($20).
