Terrible experience for price - you are paying premium for instead a budget hotel experience. Donât stay here. Lacking in service and details.
Positive - excellent location, very pretty decor, guy at the valet white young brown hair is very nice and always holds the door open when you come in. Nice touch with coffee and pastries and girl is friendly (even though the coffee is terrible).
Horrible service impacting entire stay - hiccups are expected but they do not solve them and they lie to you- we stayed for 5 days and our room was not cleaned until we forced them to clean it. The first day house keeping came and we said we would leave in 15 minutes and could they come back. Arrived back at 6pm to a room that had not been touched. Those happened again the next day. The third day we told her please please clean our room because the last two days they didnât. We arrived back and again it was not cleaned. We called to the front desk at 5pm and asked that someone come up immediately and clean the room. The person on the phone apologized and promised she would come up herself and said we could have free drinks in the restaurant. Not only did she not come up, but the person who did was the girl from earlier that promised she would clean the room. She looked miserable and like she was just yelled at. She was not please tell despite us giving her a large tip that she did not deserve. We went to the lobby for our drinks and no one acknowledged us or gave us our drinks while we waited one hour for them to refresh our room.
On day two and three of our stay (since our rooms were not cleaned or stocked) we needed new cups, ice and water bottles. Both times we called and they asked us how many glasses and water bottles we wanted. We thought that was kind and asked for two glasses and four waters. They instead brought us two. This happened twice. If you arenât willing to give out waters - donât ask how many someone wants.
On the second day we alerted them that our TV didnât work and were met with a shrug and no apology.
One robe and one slippers for a two queen bed room.
No help with luggage.
Cherry on top - just checked out and as we were leaving with all of our luggage we were not thanked at check out, no one asked us about our stay, and as I struggled with the door they all stoop there watching when they could have easily held open the door to help us. Treated like an inconvenience and like we are interrupting them when we are paying...
Read moreThe Dream Hotel Nashville is in an ideal location. The aesthetics of the hotel are superb. The individual rooms have very nice stylistic appointments and the overall vibe is an artsy throwback to the history of Printerâs Alley. The issue: I decided to add a second night to my stay due. I am a local that lives in downtown-however my lease is expiring and needed a place to crash before signing a new lease tomorrow. I originally booked on Hotels.com so itâs very understood that I would need to swipe my card to book for the new night. Whatâs not clear is why James/Jay decides to try and swipe my card for over $400.00. The rate was supposed to be $165.00. When I mentioned this, he instantly became argumentative and agitated. When I told him to return my card and I would go elsewhere, his first and ONLY concern was the fact he âcouldnât sell the roomâ because I had used it and that he would happily charge me $165.00 if I wanted to leave. I told him I would call headquarters, in which he agreed to the advertised rate of $165 and acted like he would get his GM, which he failed to do. I am a frequent traveler and very familiar with âincidentals, âhowever I have NEVER had any 5 star hotel attempt to charge me upwards of $125 per night for incidentals. Sure, for a 2 night stay $125 is acceptable but if a guest has not used the previous $125 (that is still held) what sense does it make to attempt to charge more than the advertised rate AND an additional $125 plus a higher rate. So, in summary, the hotel is nice, but my experience with James/Jay has overshadowed the entire stay, especially his condescending and argumentative nature. Maybe he should work in an area of the hotel where he receives no guest interaction because clearly he is severely lacking in communication and guest care. I will be following up with their corporate team since he purposely had no intention to bring his GM...
Read moreI really, really, really wanted to love this hotel more than I did. The bar, lobby and cafe space are all beautiful and decorated really beautifully - so would recommend popping by for a drink at one of the bars more than I would recommend actually staying here.
My husband and I stayed here this past weekend to share a mini getaway to celebrate our wedding anniversary, which we had mentioned during our booking and again upon checking in when the lady asked us the reason for our stay (since we were coming from Philly.) Not that we ever expect anything, but in stays at past hotels, we've always been lucky to have really caring staff that would surprise us with champagne or do something small to celebrate with us -- which Dream did not. (Again, no big deal! But still, a bit of a bummer considering the cost of our stay.)
Location wise, it's amazing. You'll be right in front of Printers Alley and aA few blocks far enough to not hear Broadway, but super close to get there if you want to be within walking distance to downtown and semi-close to areas like the Gulch. (You'd need to uber for anywhere in East Nashville or 12South.)
The hotel rooms were a little disappointing for me personally. I found the lighting to be really difficult to adjust to. The rooms are partially painted a dark navy blue and the lighting in there is so dimly lit, it made getting ready for nights out difficult - it is SO dark once the natural light is gone. It felt so cave-like. The walls are also paper thin. You can hear EVERYTHING. We spent every night getting woken up by a man coughing next to us - it was crazy!
Overall, I've definitely experienced a more hospitable, enjoyable stays in other hotels and while this wasn't a terrible experience by any means, I for sure would look to stay elsewhere next time we visit! Will definitely pop by the bar for a...
