Salon Diversions — Attraction in New Orleans

I had an awful experience here. Let me start by saying a few key things; I am a stylist myself, I have hair that is a natural level 6/7 which is light brown so not difficult to lift, I went into explicit detail to Gabby about what I wanted done with my hair as well as recommended what needed to be done/used to achieve proper lift in my hair. Long story short, I was in and out of the salon in an hour and 45 mins. This is for a highlight and blow dry. I left with my hair that was already blonde darker than when I went in for my service, and my hair is freaking GRAY because rather than let my hair process the appropriate amount of time, they operate on a 2 hour window for a blonding service with blowout (which is absolutely laughable). I reached out to the salon manager who was completely unapologetic and essentially blamed me and said this is the norm for their time frame for a highlight. I'll be attaching pictures of my gray hair in the comments if it allows pictures in comment s, if not, I'll be posting the pictures in my yelp and FB reviews. I will also post screen shots of the email correspondence with the salon after this happened which reflects the level of lack of professionalism as well as the pictures attached showing exactly what I asked for, which was blonde. Not mop water gray. This is not just bad hair, it's unethical business practices. I suggest you go elsewhere for blonding services because you will end up with gray hair because they have to do toner to try and cover up the fact they don't allow proper process time. The toner is to cover up the fact your hair is still brassy. Go somewhere that doesn't shove you out of the chair in 2 hours regardless of whether your hair is done or not. I am going to write a brief but honest review. Last week I needed a tone for my platinum hair. Gabriella was very good with achieving a great silver and blue hue which my hair needed. However I am very regretful that I allowed her to trim layers into my curly hair. She dug into the back of my hair and added way too many layers which made all the chemical breakage in my head of hair stand out even more. I have very wavy, frizzy hair. Gabrielle made a huge mistake getting my hair wet when I told her a dry cut would be better. I thought she would know what a "trim" meant. She did not shape my hair she added so many layers that i have a head full of haircut mistakes that will now take two full years to fully grow out. She does not know how to listen obviously and at least I was given a full refund because this haircut is so awkward I will not be able to even put it up or wear it in a ponytail till the top layers grow down to my chin. She got scissors happy and all she really had to do was even out the back but instead she kept chopping into the interior of my fine wavy hair. Don't go here for trims they just don't know how to listen or maybe I just had the misfortune of having a bad stylist. This is one of the most over texturized cuts I have had in a long time. Everyone here is incredibly friendly and they make sure to provide a comfortable and vibrant atmosphere. I was able to do a consult the same day I called to schedule a root touch up with a vivid color service so I could see how much I was looking at spending and then I was able to get in as soon as it worked with my schedule. Chandler made sure he asked and listened to what I wanted, asked me if I had any questions or concerns to which I brought up that I was actually happy with my usual salon but that I had been experiencing some problems with my bleaching services leaving me with super painful scabs. He immediately asked me if I knew what bleach my hair stylist was using and worked to not use the same bleach and used a balancing treatment to avoid the same reaction. I left with incredibly soft, healthy hair with NO REACTION OR SCABS!! I was so happy. Not to mention the color looked amazing and as soon as I walked out of the salon I got two different compliments. I went back for a haircut the next week and he made sure to only cut the split ends and left my hair as long as possible but thinned it out as much as I wanted since it was so thick and I left feeling like a weight was lifted off my shoulders. As if his talent wasn’t enough Chandler is incredibly fun to work with and converse with. The receptionist and all the other stylists I interacted with were also incredibly nice as well.
