Updating my review since the owner left a comment:
I made a reservation for 5 pm for 4 people. The confirmation email stated I could have the table for 1 hr 45 mins for reservations for 4 (email attached). When I showed up, I was told since I would not be having dinner, I can only have the table for 1 hour. After realizing how ridiculous that is, the host said actually I can have it for 2 hours until 7 pm since the restaurant wasn't that busy. That was fair and I moved on with my night and thought that would be the end of it.
Then, 45 mins into the middle of our experience, the waiter and host both came up and said we could only have the table until 6:30, 30 mins less then previously agreed upon time. They said since we were not eating, we'd have to leave at 6:30. Makes no sense, as we spent over $200 on 2 bottles of wine and some appetizers. You can't just revise the timing allowed after we had already sat down. At this point, nothing matters though. My meal was ruined, the experience was ruined. You can't come up to people in the middle of their experience and tell them they have to leave early. That is utterly ridiculous. It was plain rude. Yes, you then let us stay until past 7 and gave us a free chocolate mousse, but only because you felt bad and had a cancellation after us. None of that matters though, when I go to a restaurant I just want to be treated with respect.
When I left I did not say I would be returning again, maybe someone else did to be nice. I said nothing and left and will never be back.
This is the type of restaurant that is ruining the west village. No sense of community, no politeness, just penny pinching at every chance you get, even if we're spending hundreds of dollars. By the way, I was the type of customer who came to visit you and sat outside in the middle of the pandemic in October 2020. Nice to know the courtesy and respect for your neighbors...

Came here for lunch on a Sunday with a date. We came in as a walk-in and they gladly welcomed us. We chose to sit outside, but both the inside and outside looked quite pretty and I don't think you can go wrong with either. Do note that there is only 1 bathroom inside so you may have to wait to use it, unfortunately.
For starters, we ordered the Escargots de Bourgogne. The escargot was quite good; the garlic and parsley butter it was soaked it added much-needed flavor, and we finished the dish wishing there were more than just 6 pieces.
For the main, we ordered Truffle Mac N Cheese and Risotto aux Champignons. Both dishes were good, but not spectular. The Mac N Cheese had somewhat of a liquid-y consistency towards the bottom that made it almost soupy, which isn't normal for mac and cheese. This definitely weakened the dish. The Risotto was also good, but not great, as it had a similar liquidy, soupy consistency to it that made it strange in terms of texture. However, both dishes were still tasty; just nothing incredible. Portion-wise were quite alright as we both actually struggled to finish our dishes.
This restaurant is labeled as a French restaurant, but it definitely steers away from that a bit, as some menu options (e.g., Mac and Cheese, Risotto, French Toast, Avocado Toast, etc.) wouldn't be so commonplace in restaurants in France. This isn't a negative, but rather a good thing to keep in mind should you choose to eat here.
The service here was excellent. Our waiter would come out as needed to check up on us and ask us how things were and how we liked our meals.
Overall, a very solid option for French food in the village. I recommend coming here if you're looking for French fare in a small, quaint restaurant with indoor or...
Read moreI had the pleasure of dining at St. Tropez in the West Village, and I can confidently say it was a truly wonderful experience from start to finish! The atmosphere is warm and inviting, making it the perfect spot for a special evening out. We decided to dine al fresco on the street, and it was absolutely delightful, with the charming surroundings enhancing our experience on such a beautiful evening.
We started our meal with a delightful Fromage & Charcuterie board, which was absolutely divine and paired wonderfully with our wine choices. The selection featured an exquisite variety of cheeses and cured meats that perfectly complemented each other. My husband began his meal with the Crevettes à l'Aïoli (grilled shrimp with Provence herbs, sun-dried tomatoes, and tarragon), and he couldn’t stop raving about the vibrant flavors and succulent shrimp.
For our main courses, I ordered the Jarret d’Agneau (lamb shank), and it was nothing short of extraordinary. The lamb was tender, flavorful, and cooked to perfection, truly showcasing the chef’s skill. My husband opted for the salmon, which was equally impressive, beautifully plated and bursting with freshness.
The attentive service added to the overall experience, with staff members who were knowledgeable and eager to recommend perfect pairings for our meal. Their passion for the food and wine truly shone through.
Overall, St. Tropez West Village is a culinary gem that I cannot recommend highly enough. The combination of exquisite dishes, a lovely ambiance, and attentive service made for an unforgettable evening. I can’t wait to return to explore more of their...
