@Vegan Ginger Root – A Pan-Asian Vegan Gem in Lenox Hill, Manhattan, NY 📍 1164 1st Ave, New York, NY 10065 This cozy Pan-Asian vegan spot offers a deliciously diverse menu inspired by Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Thai, and Singaporean cuisines — all 100% vegan. We tried the Yaki Soba, a satisfying stir-fry of soba noodles loaded with cabbage, dry tofu, bell peppers, shiitake mushrooms, carrots, and onions. Every bite was savory and full of umami. I was especially excited to see fried bok choy on the menu — one of my absolute favorite greens. It was cooked to perfection, simple yet flavorful. The Vegan Beef Fried Rice was another standout. Comes with veggies too and is deeply flavorful, the portion size was generous enough for leftovers — which were just as tasty the next day! To drink, the Thai iced tea was refreshing and creamy — just the right balance of sweet and cool. We ended on a high note with a Toasted Coconut Layer Cake for dessert. Light, fluffy, and just the right amount of sweet. The vibe? Casual, friendly, and welcoming. Whether you're vegan or just exploring plant-based eats, Vegan Ginger Root is a spot worth checking out! . Can’t wait to share with you all the vegan places we try and who know? maybe even we could have a pop-up here. If someone wants to host us, please DM us. And no worries, we’ll be back to the San Francisco Bay Area soon. Sending peace and love to y’all. Ginger root is one of our favorite vegan restaurants! It is the most amazing take out and now eating here in person, it is just as impressive! The food came so quickly and with two complimentary miso soups that were delicious. The general tsoi “chicken” is crispy and saucy: a real treat! All the noodle dishes have such an addicting yet light sauce with a variety of mixed veggies, we have such a hard time choosing which to get! Finally, their eggplant string beans dish comes as an extremely generous portion and has such a unique and delicious flavor. These dishes also come with perfectly cooked rice and soy beans. Eating this in person has been delightful as the staff is extremely attentive and continues to try to make your experience the best. We also truly appreciate how reasonable the prices here are for these delicious dishes! We will be coming here for as long as we live in NYC, and highly recommend to everyone!

Good Asian Vegan restaurant. Food was quite good here. The scallion pancakes were very good with he mango sauce. Next appetizer was the tofu skin wrap. I do not recommend this as it was drenched in oil & had absolutely no flavor. For main we had the Yaki Soba noodles & pineapple fried rice. The noodles were very flavorful had a nice texture. Veggies were fresh & had a bite. I am not big fan of pineapple but was pleasantly surprised by the pineapple fried rice. The avacado in the dish really adds depth. Dessert was delicious Organic Coconut Icecream. This was one of the best non dairy ice creams I have ever had. Definitely a good experience & will be going back.

Purchased their voucher on restaurant dot com website. Called to ask if we needed to make a reservation to redeem the voucher--the person answering the phone said yes, we indeed needed a reservation to redeem the voucher. We made a reservation and showed up at our appointed time. We arrived and was casually greeted by a server who instructed us to sit anywhere--the restaurant was EMPTY--as in all tables were available! We asked the server why did we need a reservation to redeem their voucher if the restaurant was empty and he told us that they do not accept vouchers from restaurant dot com and that the person answering their phone was not made aware of this! The server told us that it was a big mistake with that vendor and that they did NOT sign their restaurant up to participate in their voucher promotion program and that their restaurant was the victim of some sort of scam with the voucher program. The server asked us if we still wanted to see a menu -- given that thee place was empty during peak dinner hours and their callousness towards us in general we left. After reading reviews on here, it seems we did...

4.5 food to be honest. 3 ambience. It's hard to get any decent photos in here and definitely a hole in the wall. nice wallpaper, not nice having a sever sneeze while not having her mask on. Lots of take out happening. We were the only ones on saturday early night But im vegetarian i have to support . 5/5 stars.

We started the night food wise a little rough. The sashimi looks 100% convincing but is quite liquid-y. If it could rip more easily it would be more passing. Don't recommend.

The pumpkin soup that was included with the bimbimbamp was stellar. The cold noodles with peanut sauce yum 😍😍. The bim bi bamp comes with a not spicy sauce and more of the peanut sauce both on the side. All the ingredients were good, wise it had two more piece of pork for quantity sake. The pork was a bit dry.

Overall 10/10...
