We are a family of four with an 11 and 14 year old from Queens, NY and needed an end of summer celebration before school got underway and the sadness of life indoors in front of a computer resumed.

I once hired a sailboat and captain to celebrate my parents' anniversary that went around the NY Harbor, Hudson and East Rivers and realized that something similar at sunset in warm weather would be an ecstatic change of pace and something to create memories and photos that would literally last a lifetime, cause it's such a unique treat.

Because of Covid we decided to splurge and relax on a private sailing, and were lucky to find that Brooklyn Sail was a great price and had a sunset sail available the following week. Ian, the owner and captain made it simple to book and his easy going, and friendly manner along with his absolute competence and professionalism made the entire experience a pleasure from beginning to end.

We really got a chance to relax and enjoy ourselves and each other in a way that's been difficult since the pandemic - and the sites and being on the water was an absolute panacea.

We were also lucky to find metered 3-hour parking within walking distance of the Pier along the waterfront that Ian generously suggested. I guess you can tell that I can't recommend this idea and this company more...

WOW! What a treat!

I have lived in New York for ten years and have seen the city from all vantage points, but I have to say that experiencing the unobstructed views of Downtown Manhattan, gliding under the bridges, and sailing around the Statue of Liberty was incredible and a once in a lifetime experience. You truly cannot be closer to these landmarks!

I have gone out with Brooklyn Sail twice now, for both a sunny afternoon and a sunset cruise. Each sail was amazing and truly unique. It is fascinating to watch the sky transform.

Ian is a choose your own adventure kind of captain. The evening sail was quiet and intimate with a close friend, while the afternoon sail welcomed music, laughter and even singing! A cooler with drinks and snacks is recommended!

Ian is equally knowledgable about the city and sailing, and is happy to share and engage if you are interested. As we are in the midst of a pandemic, he is also extremely sensitive to safety precautions. And what a true breath of fresh air to shelter in place on the sea!! The hustle and bustle of everything around you melts away.

I would highly recommend Brooklyn Sail for sailing charter, boat charter, fun with friends and family, or a super...

Hands down one of my favorite sails, especially here in NYC! We had Capt. Andrew that day, and he was polite, enthusiastic, and proactive. We had a friend visit town from the Bay Area, and we want him to have a different experience to see the city.

We had the weekday morning trip with photos (a must!). Before we even stepped through the gate, we had a warm welcome and quick brief on what goes around the Enchantress. You are free to be where ever you are on the sailboat, as long as it is safe and comfortable. They had cushions out on the front and a bluetooth speaker at our disposable.

ROUTE: We went under the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges and back. We passed through Governor's Island with a view of Staten Island. We moved closer to Liberty Island and passed Ellis Island. We even went up north a tad bit in Hudson River before we head back to the One Marine in the East River.

You get more bang for your buck, and amazing experience, and the photos I attached are a few taken by Capt. Andrew himself! We will definitely be back for Brooklyn Sail.

Heads up! No red wine or any cocktail with red wine. Use soft-soled footwear on the day. You can pack some lunch and have an amazing picnic for 2.5...
