Experienced poor service when we went to pick up our car. I booked the rental several months in advance, so all that was done was to look up the reservation, in silence, they didn't even verify who I was by looking at my ID. I had no other verification with me other than just telling them my name. I asked for standard insurance and I asked to pre-pay for gas. We dropped the car off in a different location and I was shocked at the price tag that was triple what I was told. They charged me almost $200 a day for insurance when I specifically asked for the $11 a day option. I was charged $3.09 per gallon of gas, when it was posted on their wall that they charge only $2.35. Original price was a little over $300 when I booked online, they charged me $900. When I disputed it the drop off location reversed the charges and said the pick up location will call me to sort it out once they see they didn't get paid. It took them almost a week to call. I explained what happened and that the gentleman I picked up from didn't speak an entire sentence to me, all he did was charge my credit card. I spoke to two different people whose response was "OK, well will fix it. Thank you!" I had to ask multiple times for them to clarify, to which they refused to explain what "We will fix it" meant. I eventually got a call from the manager who said "You were overcharged, we fixed it", again I had to ask what this meant, how was I overcharged, what were they NOW charging me. This conversation asking for details took much longer than it needed to be. After receiving a final bill, and an anticipated charge for tolls a few weeks later, I am now disputing random charges that have shown up 2 months later in varying amounts with absolutely no details (i.e. the toll payments were noted as "Toll Fees"). I've rented from Enterprise many many times, but something about this location has really raised red flags to me. That and it's just unheard of for Enterprise employees to be anything but friendly. I will now be changing my card information so they can no longer continue...
Read moreA very good experience. I requested a Suburban to move some large objects to an out of state storage facility. In NYC such large cars are scarce for renting due to space limitations, Hertz's biggest is a Pathfinder for example. The Enterprise office promised to source one for the day I needed it and when I arrived sure enough there it was, delivered from another out of state office. Then they informed me how to structure the rental to maximize free mileage. The office is clean and pleasant and the service efficient. I will be a regular there from now on.
I have been a Hertz customer for years but lately notice that their customer service has deteriorated and more than once have encountered staff who really do not seem to like their company and their service attitude shows it, which is too bad. In contrast, whenever I rent from Enterprise, employees seem eager to help. When I call by phone I get a human rapidly without undergoing multiple prompts one so often has to go through these days, and the human is able to solve the problem on that call without transferring me to a variety of other people all of whom need to know your name etc. all over again - that direct service is rare these days in the age of outsourcing.
I will rent from Enterprise exclusively whenever I can because of that...
Read moreThis is the worst experience I've had renting any car!! I used my chase travel portal towars this rental purchase! I made the reservation on April 15th 2019 at 7:00pm.
I went there to pickup the car, found out the office is already closed and nobody is there! Called the number they emailed me before and the agent said I'm sorry sir this office closes everyday at 7:00pm, I told him I had no idea and never received any information from you saying that! My plans are messed up and had to take the train to DC!
The next day I called customer service to understand what happens when customers ask for late pickup!! after (7:00pm) the agent was so rude and never validated the inconvenience I had because of that, then I asked to speak with his supervisor, basically I got a more calm person repeating the same thing that the office is closed and it's not their mistake and I should have gone earlier and then they blamed the travel agency which is Expedia for not sending me this information!!
Avoid at all costs! They don't care about their...
