My experience was a 10/10! I loved how clean this spa was. I was offered a scalp treatment and it was incredible. The women there were so kind and respectful of my wishes (I didn’t want certain products in my hair). The scalp treatment is unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. I drove all the way from Suffolk County & it was so worth it! I also got a 60 minute massage and it was PERFECT. I love hard massages & the woman doing mine really worked my back out. I will say that the tables are a bit hard so if you have back troubles, I recommend getting the scalp treatment first and then the massage, that way it takes the pressure off your back for the second half. The aromatherapy begins as soon as you walk in the door. Then once you’re getting your steam treatment done, the 𝘄𝗼𝗻𝗱𝗲𝗿𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝘀𝗺𝗲𝗹𝗹𝘀 keep coming with every shampoo, oil and treatment they put in your hair. ⁣ The waiting room is not chic per se but there are 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗳𝘆 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗶𝗿𝘀, a wall full of products, 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗮𝗿𝘆 𝗷𝘂𝗶𝗰𝗲𝘀 & 𝘄𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀, and if you’ve ever been to a spa like this- you know they mean business. ⁣ Just a note to my shy girlies- the treatment areas are separated by sheets. Aside from the two guys at the front desk, there are 𝗻𝗼 𝗺𝗲𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗮. THAT being said, no men can see you and it’s definitely a more European/Asian vibe regarding privacy. ⁣ I would 1000% not let this deter you. If you’ve ever been on a sports team or given birth, this should be no biggie for you. ⁣ I loved the partial blow dry and scalp microscope after my treatments. ⁣ Because the blow drying happens in the same vicinity as the treatments, it’s not too quiet but still quiet enough that the 𝗯𝗮𝗰𝗸𝗴𝗿𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱 𝗺𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗽 𝘁𝗼 𝘇𝗲𝗻 𝗼𝘂𝘁. ⁣ The spa was 𝘀𝗼 𝘀𝗼 𝗰𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻 which is soooo important. ⁣ The ladies were 𝗸𝗶𝗻𝗱, 𝘁𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝘁𝗲𝗱 & I didn’t feel judged by anyone (staff or other spa goers). ⁣ ⁣ I’d say this experience is absolutely worth the time, the money & the drive. If you’re coming from far- make a day out of it!⁣

Update: The owner left a very aggressive fabrication response because I left them a negative review. My appointment was at 1:00 PM, so whoever they were talking about was probably the friend of the guest they ushered in. Regardless, I won’t be back. And I’m changing it from 2-stars to 1-star. You’re welcome. Innovative idea. Poor execution. The girls who washed our hair were super nice, but the whole business seemed like a scam run by a money-hungry boss lady. About 30 minutes before our appointment, we received a call asking what time we'll be arriving. We got numerous messages from them before telling us to arrive 10 minutes prior to our reservation, so we were confused by the call. We told them we'd get there 10 minutes before our appointment, but we got held up a bit and arrived 5 minutes before the time of our appointment. Unsurprisingly, before we got there, we got another call asking where we were. "WE'RE RIGHT OUTSIDE." As soon as we walked in, they ushered us to two beds tucked into a tiny hallway. Thank goodness we went together because as we left, they were checking in another party of two, but the party wasn't completed yet. The guest told the boss lady her friend is a block away, but the boss lady kept pushing her to go in first. WHAT DIFFERENCE IS THAT GOING TO MAKE?! YOU'RE NOT GOING TO BE ABLE TO SQUEEZE IN ANOTHER CUSTOMER IN 5 MINUTES! I'm sorry, but I wouldn't pay $10 for this service. PASS!

The treatment itself was good but this was definitely not a “luxurious spa” treatment. I’ll leave all my pros and cons below:

Negatives:

  1. my appointment was at 11am, they called me at 10:46am to ask for an eta…I was never gonna be there until 5 minutes before the appointment. So I thought the call was unnecessary. I figure they’re trying to rush their clients and push them in earlier so they can accept more throughout the day.
  2. my biggest qualm with them is that nowhere on their website or FAQ did they mention this was a CASH ONLY place. I came, the receptionist asked me how I’d like to pay, I said card. Then she said “oh we only accept cash”, girl then why are you asking me for!? They need to make it clear on their website that this is their policy. Or when they text you to confirm the appointment, this could have been communicated. I did not appreciate the poor communication.
  3. I offered to pay tips in Zelle or Venmo, they said they can only accept Zelle if it’s from a chase bank because they’re not affiliated with other banks. Venmo is not accepted. Absurd.
  4. the entire exchange is very transactional. You will literally get THE SILENT TREATMENT unless you speak Chinese. There was no walking the client through the steps of the entire process. No water or tea is even offered when you first arrive. They just rush you to the room right away. FYI: good spa etiquette involves offering your client refreshment and asking if they need to use the restroom beforehand.
  5. this could have also been communicated during the confirmation text but you will have to be mostly topless for the head treatment. I was wearing a halter so it wasn’t a problem. But for those of you who do not wish to completely strip, it’s better if you wear a halter or tank where you can just lower the top part down. Again, this could have been communicated beforehand but was not. This was also not on their FAQ on their website.
  6. I also agreed with another reviewer below that it’s more beneficial for the client to see their scalp before and after the treatment. It literally takes 2 minutes. But I already saw below that the business responded saying “it’s a small business and they don’t have the time”. K. Again, it takes like 2 mins.
  7. never once was I asked if temperature of the water is good or if pressure is good. I understand there is a language barrier but honestly, these are just basic questions that a masseuse should be able to ask their client.

Positives:

  1. I had Lisa for my treatment and she did a great job. Very gentle on the scalp and was thorough. She also gave a really good neck and shoulders massage even though it didn’t last that long
  2. my hair and scalp does feel cleaner

Overall, was a very MEH experience with lack of etiquette from the front house staff. I will be looking elsewhere for my future scalp treatment. This is barely a spa. A spa is where guests are offered a relaxing experience. Where guests are coming in without a lack of information and hit with surprises. Where guests do not feel rushed. I’ve already told everyone I know to...

I came here because I heard good things about it on tiktok, but was unfortunately let down by my experience. I arrived to my appointment and was promptly taken to the back where the head massage would take place. There was almost no wait time which I appreciate.

The ambiance of the room seemed relaxing at first with dim lights and relaxing music, until there was constant conversation between employees in the same room which ruined the relaxing ambiance and made it annoying.

Maybe I misunderstood what the head massage comes with, but as others have mentioned, it’s mostly hair washing with only about 15 minutes of massage. The lady taking care of me was very rough on my scalp. I did not say anything in the beginning since I thought it would only be for a few minutes, but the same roughness was used throughout. I could have spoken up to fix this, but I did not. However, such roughness on the scalp should not be the norm.

The small massage portion in my scalp, neck and shoulders was nice. I wish it lasted longer. Towards the end, there was light scalp massaging with a few tools which I wish lasted longer.

The service was finished with hair drying, hair oil and a view of my clean scalp. My hair looked and felt very clean, I was surprised. I don’t dry my hair because it gets frizzy so I had to get it wet again and apply my own cream afterwards. I opted to dry it there since it was cold outside, so let them know if you do not want your hair dried beforehand.

Before I left, there were some issues with tipping through zelle which I'm sure is not their fault, but made the experience less favorable given how I felt about the massage service. The customer service also could be improved.

Overall, I cannot recommend this place and I would not return. The cons far outweigh the pros. I am very happy with how clean my scalp is though! It smells great.

In summary: Pros: Almost no wait time short massage portion was nice leaves your scalp very clean and smelling great

Cons: very rough on the scalp rough when brushing hair massage portion only lasts 15 minutes it is mostly hair washing environment can become noisy due to constant conversations and was not relaxing for me at all hair drying at the end may not be suitable for all hair types so one may...

I visited Guifei spa with my girlfriend recently because she caught wind of it through social media and I have nothing but positive things to say about my experience starting from reserving a time slot to getting the treatment. I've never gotten a scalp treatment before or had any spa treatment in general but after this experience, I am considering going more often. My girlfriend would also agree since she was raving about how soft and clean her hair felt after ever since we had the treatment!

Starting off with the reservation system, I was able to book an appointment for me and my girlfriend pretty easily. The system requires you to book a time slot for each person receiving the treatment so I had to make two separate reservations. However, the time slot I booked for one reservation only had space for only 1 person so I reached out to them on Instagram. The person helping with our reservation was extremely responsive and was able to help us book an earlier time slot. For those having trouble figuring out how to book a reservation, they also have detailed steps on their Instagram page on how to book a reservation!

Since booking the reservation, we received a text to confirm our appointment and also received reminder texts about our appointment which I thought was nice.

On the day of the appointment, we arrived 10 minutes early as they requested, and our treatment started within minutes. The first thing we noticed about the space was its cleanliness and welcoming staff. We were guided to a private booth separated out by curtains, where the masseuse had us lie down and immediately went to work. We both got the Scalp Herbal Steam Treatment which involves washing your scalp/hair with a shampoo of your choosing (I chose a tea tree oil based shampoo), a massage for your upper torso, and a scalp massage with various tools. The massage was extremely relaxing and the hour flew by. After the massage, we were directed to an area where the masseuse blow dried our hair and let us inspect our scalp with a microscope device.

Overall, the experience was amazing and they even offer complementary drinks when you enter/leave the establishment. I will definitely be returning to try out their...
