My family and I have shopped at this Hmart since 2010. Before the renovation, we loved coming here to get Korean goods and all the staff (although sometimes a language barrier) were the friendliest most nicest people ever.
After the renovation, it seems like it all went down hill. The staff are all very rude. The cashiers are the worst part of it all. Since the reopening I went three times to this hmart. All three times were absolutely disappointing experiences. There is ONE employee in particular that has really ruined it for me. It is one of the Hispanic employees. I speak Spanish and English fluently. So it was my surprise when this lady is complaining about the job and about her Korean colleagues in Spanish to the other Hispanic employees WHILE checking out my shopping. This one is a bit on the heavier side compared to the other girl.
I didn’t catch her name so I unfortunately cannot name her. However her attitude is absolutely disgusting. If she doesn’t like working there then maybe she should find another job. There is nothing more annoying that having people talk behind your back in another language, so the fact that she’s doing it to her Korean colleagues raising the question of what else she could be saying or doing.
My last straw was when I was checking out today and she seemed super annoyed about what I was buying. If you hate being a cashier please quit and find a job you enjoy and stop ruining everyone else’s shopping experience....
Read moreI've shopped at this store for years before it became part of the H-mart chain. Since it is a smaller store, it doesn't have everything but it has the necessities. Service is usually ok but not that friendly (sometimes they are nicer to people before or after me, as if I don't deserve the same respect). I miss the old staff of the previous independently-owned Han-Ah-Reum who consistently gave great, courteous service.
But when you check out, make sure to scan your H-mart card first at the register before anything else. On my last visit, I forgot to give the card and the worker scanned it after the receipt came out. She ripped off the bottom of the receipt and vaguely said "I'll give it later" while handing me the rest of the receipt.
Later, I called the store but no one answered. I called a different store and they explained that without the bar code, they cannot help me add the points from the purchase to my account.
I returned to the store but the worker told me she already added the points to my account. I asked for proof but she said it takes a few days for it to register on the account.
Definitely won't forget to scan my card from now on to avoid...
Read moreH Mart is popular but the one in Woodside is this really the H mart that's in flushing? The Woodside H mart is pretty tidy, and not big as other places I have been to in flushing area.
So of course there isn't much stuff as flushing H Mart has. They have a fish corner in the back but doesn't seem so fresh as other places so I skip on that. They have korean rice cake (떡), korean banchan, kimbap, and etc. Their vegetables are FRESH.
Outside the store they freshly bake sweet potatoes and sell it. I wanted to get it but will definitely try next time for sure. Just an heads up if you ever guys buying snacks from there make sure to check the expiration date because I brought korean snacks there some tastes like it was hard, it been there for long time.
I come by often but not coming for snacks anymore after first experience. Btw if you spend at least $50 grocery you get their card which you collect 10, 20, and etc you will get 1 box of ramen, rice, rice cooker and etc. Make sure you ask for it if you...
