Whenever you're in need of really authentic Japanese products, whatever it is ... 4 have come to shop here more so than anywhere else inside the five-boroughs. As a relatively unknown author on food or gourmet anything, honestly I do love really good things like a bento box. Or, other staples generally found like one would normally have had if you were grocery shopping in any large city in Japan. Say Osaka to Tokyo for example.
In general the produce us pretty fantastic. The raw fish: delectable and fresh ! Sushi ... nicely presented and on average well-priced. By comparison of course, whenever shipping even fir sashimi or sushi in supermarkets whetever found in the cities in Japan are as competitive as they come as being in NYC. My only gripe is that, you can find pricing points exceptionally lower there than here in America. Which, like 'bento boxes' to go are definitely tastier and healthier there than it can be here. Quality wise. (Well, not the most authentic in many regards but a facsimile more often than none...) it's still delightfully good though.
Insofar as everything else, it's terrific. Each of their locations offer something unique soart from the chains itself. Wonderful for all ages. And great places...
Read moreI always came here to shop for chinese groceries. But last time one of the cashier broke my good impression of this place. She legit smashed my card on the counter and grabbed my other card from my hand and called me a psycho lol. First of all, many other places including the garage near my bf’s house accept unionpay even if they don’t list it. It depends on the machine, and you didn’t tell me I cannot use unionpay, so when I saw the machine, i assume it might work and insert my card, she just turned angry and took the card put and threw it on the counter. And yelled at me. Don’t get it, my indian friend standing next to me could not understand any dirty words she was saying. And the people behind me were in shock. Don’t wanna waste my time arguing and having my friend watching it is just gonna be embarrassing so I paid with my different card, and she did it again, just grabbed the card from my hand. Please fire this woman, otherwise I am gonna find her and do the same thing while videotaping what happens next. who ever visit be aware of...
Read moreJMart in Flushing is a fantastic destination for fresh seafood and hard-to-find ingredients. I visited to shop for fish and was impressed by the wide selection and the freshness of the products. The store is well-organized, making it easy to navigate despite the extensive variety of items available.
The prices are very reasonable, especially for the quality and the range of ingredients offered. This is definitely a go-to spot if you're looking for authentic and specialty items that are difficult to find elsewhere.
The staff weren't particularly helpful, likely due to a language barrier, but that's not something you generally expect in this type of grocery store. Most shoppers will find what they need by exploring the well-stocked aisles.
Overall, JMart in Flushing is a reliable and efficient grocery store for those seeking fresh produce, seafood, and unique ingredients. A must-visit for home chefs and food...
