Review of the Niagara Falls 2-Day Tour from New York (via Tour2fun)
I recently booked a 2-day Niagara Falls tour from New York through Tour2fun, and here's my detailed experience:
Price The tour was attractively priced at $113 for a "Buy 2, Get 2 Free" deal, which came out to around $57 per person—a great bargain at first glance. However, there were additional fees that weren’t clearly disclosed upfront. The guide informed us of extra charges later, which amounted to an additional $223, bringing the total cost to $280 per person. This was significantly more than expected, so be prepared for those hidden costs.
Itinerary and Attractions The tour stuck to its schedule and packed in a lot of sightseeing. We visited several beautiful spots, and the time management was good despite the tight schedule. It’s an ideal tour if you want to cover a lot of ground and capture stunning views without spending too much time at each location. Niagara Falls itself was breathtaking, and the tour gave us plenty of opportunities to take fantastic photos.
Guide Service The guide was friendly and worked hard to make sure everyone was taken care of. He spoke both Chinese and English, though his English was sometimes difficult to understand. However, he made an effort to ensure we were comfortable and informed. It was clear that he was putting in a lot of effort to make the trip enjoyable for everyone, even though it must have been exhausting for him.
Food Experience One of the downsides of the tour was the food. Unfortunately, none of the meals were particularly tasty. We had a buffet and a meal at a food court, and both were disappointing in terms of quality and flavor. It was definitely not the highlight of the trip, so I’d recommend packing your own snacks or making other food arrangements if possible.
Tour Bus Amenities One thing that surprised me was that no bottled water was provided on the bus, which is something I've seen offered on other tours. It would have been a nice touch, especially considering the long bus rides between stops.
Hotel Accommodation The hotel we stayed in was of good quality, and for the price, it was a pleasant surprise. The rooms were clean and comfortable, making for a good rest after a long day of travel and sightseeing.
Overall In conclusion, I would rate this tour a 7/10. Despite the unexpected additional fees and mediocre food, the itinerary was packed with beautiful sights, and the guide did a great job. It’s a fun and worthwhile trip if you’re looking to visit Niagara Falls on a budget, but just be aware of the extra costs and food quality.
Would I recommend it? Sure! It’s a great way to see Niagara Falls in a short amount of time, and overall, I think it offers decent value...
Read moreJonah was our tour guide. We took the 3 day Niagara (Winter) tour from New Jersey (some people joined from NY and Pennsylvania). Great experience, my mother and I enjoyed a lot and made new friends.
Jonah was great with the planning and organizing the itinerary. I appreciated the way he explained the next steps in the tour in every announcement. The lunch and dinner times, next stops and what we are going to do in next 2-3 hours (and the plan for next day on our way to the hotel). He also made sure to warn us about the cold weather or rain and advised us to bring umbrellas or jackets ahead of time. Because of that, everyone was prepared and there were no delays due to fellow passengers getting the luggage out to unpack their coat.
We spent enough time at the spots, covering lot of tourist attractions in DC, Philly and Niagara. I wanted to spend less time at each spot and do as many spots as possible, this tour was just what I wanted. Parks were 1-1.5 hour halt and monuments were half hour halt, just the right amount of time to witness the beauty, take pictures, admire the nature and to use the restrooms! But NOT enough time to sit there, sipping hot chocolate and chill (Was too cold anyway)
I would also like to mention most crowd was Asian, and they all were very friendly. We sat together for meals and I did not feel left out. Most importantly, everybody was punctual and disciplined, which made the whole trip timely and less stressful. I have had bad experiences with big groups where some people are late and that ruins everyone’s vacation. But this tour was flawless.
Heads up about the entry fees. We were asked to pay $310 per head after joining the bus ride. The fee was supposedly for 3 lunch buffets and entry fees at niagara. Initially I thought it’s a scam, but later in the tour we stopped for all you can eat buffets for 3 meals. Good food, variety and all was paid including tips. At Niagara falls, all the tours and entry tickets were already bought by Jonah and we did not waste time waiting in line. So, I didn’t mind the $310.
Thank you Jonah and the whole crowd for this...

Tour Guide Sky: Professionalism: Sky was consistently punctual, organized, and attentive. Despite the underwhelming experience at Roosevelt Island, Sky maintained his positive attitude and did his best to keep the group engaged. Knowledge and Communication: Sky’s extensive knowledge of New York City was evident. He provided insightful details about Roosevelt Island, highlighting its historical significance and filming locations, although these did not fully compensate for the destination's lackluster nature. Responsiveness: Sky was quick to adapt to the group’s preferences, adjusting the schedule slightly to allow more time at more engaging attractions earlier in the day, such as Central Park. Overall Impression: Despite the limitations of the Roosevelt Island stop, Sky’s efforts and enthusiasm ensured that the day remained enjoyable. His leadership throughout the tour was a key factor in the positive experience.
Driver Joe: Safety and Comfort: Joe provided a smooth and safe journey, navigating New York’s busy streets with skill, ensuring a comfortable ride for all passengers. Punctuality: Joe was consistently on time, helping the group stay on schedule, particularly important on a day with a full itinerary. Professionalism: Joe was courteous and helpful, contributing to a stress-free travel experience with his calm demeanor and professional conduct. Overall Impression: Joe’s reliable driving and professionalism were integral to the tour’s success, particularly on the last day, which included multiple stops in a busy city.
Summary: The last day featured iconic NYC attractions like Grand Central and Central Park, which were enjoyable. However, the visit to Roosevelt Island was underwhelming, lacking in engaging activities. It might be better positioned as a brief stop rather than an in-depth tour. Despite this, both Sky and Joe’s professionalism and dedication helped ensure the day was as enjoyable...
