I've been a customer for plenty of years and truly like the brand. I myself have been in retail for 20 plus years. On 1/11/25 yesterday, i walked into your location for the first time to pick up some items, but first needed to use the restroom. I headed towards that section, not knowing that employees would need to grant access for use. One person was already waiting. So I went and asked for assistance. As I'm walking back the employee in the picture attached was opening the door , also not knowing that it was not an individual stall I ask the gentleman if I can go first he was like sure by all means.... The employee then turned and told me you are a grown man. Why do you wait last minute as well? Why are you asking to go first. I found that so rude and disrespectful. But I went and proceeded to use the restroom. When I came out, I noticed her and at the moment decided to try and speak to her to tell how i felt she was rude and can make statements with out reason just as I'm trying to speak to her she walks away. I'm like ok no problem. I don't ask, follow, or say anything else to her . I asked an employee on that second floor she had a yellow sweater she was super nice ....if I can speak to a manager. She said sure she was downstairs."" I head downstairs to level 1. I'm just standing quietly and away from the line and customers. All of sudden it's the same employee that made the statements and walked away a few minutes ago ....She comes up to me rude ..like hey hey you want to speak to a manager I'm thrown off because of the way she is speaking and in shock that it's the same employee. So I say yes, and before i can speak, she is telling me if you don't like what i said or how she came about it, that is too bad for me. When finally given the chance to speak, she was still on the walkie-talkie not fully given attention as to why i felt she was wrong. As I explained and said I was respectful and didn't understand why she would say those things ... I noted to her that I was diabetic and that, at times, using the restroom is something that can't be controlled. With no empathy or sense of taking accountability, I just walked away and stated I would report and hopefully speak to her manager. Just don't know how having someone so rude can help your store as she was not willing to try and be accountable or help the situation. Never have I felt so insulted and disregarded. Especially with something that could have been avoided with her not stating anything as she was not even being spoken to from the beginning. The photo is from a customer review previously. I'm glad I was able to find it. I will be reaching out to...
Read moreI wouldn't even want to give them one star. I was in the store for about 30 minutes grabbing a few things for my daughter, not one associate greeted me or ask if I needed assistance as I'm approaching the cash register something else caught my eye. I'm digging through a bin of bears when I hear a associate state "you cant be behind the register" I continued looking for the bogo sale when she approached me from behind. And stated again " you cant be behind the register" at that time she posted herself there. So I had time to tell her "use your judgment" where the bin was positioned was adjacent to the unoccupied registered and I was just looking for a item. I'm curious why instead of taking some dictating position. Why not offer assistance. She stated "I'm just telling you" at this point I'm boiling mad so I asked for her supervisor as I'm giving him my concern he offered his own version on what would have been "behind the register" I let him know my intentions and how I was highly annoyed to be spoken to in that manner. As the conversation progressed he stated maybe she was "concerned" this only heightened the conversation, there is a wrong way to do the "right" thing. As a black consumer I cant now help that she was profiling me. What was so concerning? I had to now ask. If you as black consumers ever feel unjustly targeted in these stores dont hesitate to contact coorporate. I declined to buy the merchandise because of this disrespect and took my money elsewhere. Before I left I offered the manager a very simple solution to either block off the area or dont put it so close to the register. I dont think I'm the only one to had dig through that bin. But I guess my skin color is threatening to this young white woman very disgusting behavior. SKYLAR you should be...
Read moreI arrived in to the Michael's store located on Atlantic Avenue in Brooklyn, NYC in search of thank to our cards to send to guests for attending my birthday party last week. The greeter at the door was not certain if Michael's carried thank you cards but she pointed me towards the direction of where they might be and said that their should be an associate who could further assist me. I thanked her for her time, but she never replied you're welcome. And while I thought her service was not really all that great I headed in the direction of where I had hoped to connect with a better representative of Michael's. Within one minute I located a sales associate. Upon my initial greeting I could tell she was busy hauling boxes and putting them on display. I waited patiently until she completed a section of her project and greeted her with a smile and said good morning. I explained what I needed and from there I knew I was in great hands and that she valued me as a customer and took great pride in her job. I asked for her name to which she replied Osama (I may have mistakenly misspelled her name). She listened intently as I shared with her my project. She provided me with options, price checks and sought after just the right product given the measurements on what I needed to include in the envelope. Osama was spot on on every level! She took control of the task presented and she knew her inventory quite thoroughly and succinctly! Additionally, she was charming and a joy to speak with and be serviced by. She is a tremendous asset to the Michael's brand and should be given all due consideration! Osama sets the bar for exceptional customer service and she made my shopping experience most memorable and I will share it with my...
