Today I went to visit the near gym by my home and I was in disbelief! I went in around about 6:30pm and a tall dark skinned guy scan my key card and he was I was good, he smiled slightly, However, he did not give my a welcoming greeting and I was fine with that. I ask him where were the lockers and he said they were upstairs.
I workout and ask the young lady at the front desk by the name of Delfi (Team Member) where were the massage chairs, before she answered I said are they down stairs. She said yes. I started to walk towards the steps and turned back around to ask her how does it work to get a massage. She handed me a coin. I went downstairs to the black card spa and was upset a little because at this planet fitness there were no hydro massage chairs, I only got five minutes on the deep tissue massage chair. When I was walking out of the gym I approached her about the five minutes she stated that it was all they gave and if I wanted more time I can come back to the front desk and get another coins. I feel like it was inconsiderate to get of the massage chair just to get a coin to add more time.
I worked for the Planet Fitness in Dover, Delaware and we always was big on customer excellence and extended our services to the best of our knowledge. We have a kiosk in dover that allows is to set up appointments for our members and the maximum time on the machines is ten minutes so it more convenient in a sense because it allows you to see how much time the member has on the machine, who's next, and it allows structure in the busy work place like the gym. The paper towel dispenser got stuck on the top floor, I had to walk to another one. Rounds are not being made regularly because the spray bottles was not fill to the top. Although the woman bathroom is amazing it smelled horrible. I do not like the fact that there are curtains instead of doors. there are no mats on the floors for you to step out nor shower caddies. They have hooks for you to hang your clothing outside the shower and that gives room for your belongings or important valuables to be stolen or misplaced. So I will not be taking showers here.
Seems to be understaffed because there are a lot of things wrong with this gym although there's two levels and an elevator. Its dirty in here! They need to clean the walls, mop the floors, and clean the lockers!
But overall, I had a great workout! The rowing is break though so that needs to be fixed. It was uncomfortable to work out on it but another young lady was on...
Read moreThis location has the potential to deserve its current rating but currently, I am confused by the high ratings. There are several key issues you should be aware before joining.
Lack of Proper Monitoring: There is a noticeable absence of staff oversight in both the upstairs and downstairs areas. Weights are often left scattered around, making it difficult to find matching sets. MOST IMPORTANTLY, people monopolize the strength straining equipment for extended periods (men) endlessly occupy machines for their entire gym session without consideration for others. Imagine that. Spending over 1 hour claiming the machine for an hour and more at peak hours. Men will also linger around women who are lifting because they know they are they are the only ones who will leave the machine when they finish. This behavior is both inconsiderate and selfish, and it would be helpful if gym staff enforced time limits or provided better supervision to ensure fair access for all members. The training area is full of people hoarding the machines for way too long.
Non-Functioning Water Fountains: The water fountains have been out of order for months, and there’s been absolutely no urgency in getting them repaired (it is still currently “out of order” ). Surprisingly but not so surprisingly the gym has been profiting from selling bottled water downstairs.
Cleanliness and Hygiene Concerns: The gym is often unsanitary, with soap frequently unavailable in the restrooms. Cleaning stations are sparse, and most members fail to wipe down equipment after use. This lack of cleanliness is a significant concern, especially in a shared environment like a gym.
These are just a few of the ongoing issues, including the air conditioning being at its lowest, WiFi never working, and I mean never, the music being unpleasant most times, and them not proving basic gym necessities. I would advise considering alternative options before investing in a membership here. Even a different location would be best. If the mentioned issues above don’t bother you, I then recommend. The atmosphere (lighting) is nice, the manager is helpful, and everyone is respectful. I don’t encounter any issues here. Additionally, aside from strength training machines there are a bountiful of...
Read moreInconvenient! I can't even pay with cash or regular PayPal debit card for a membership. We're not renting anything we're not taking anything from you to required to have a credit card to sign up it makes no sense that my cash or my debit card can't be accepted so if I use a credit card and I don't show up for a whole month y'all still making your money regardless. You would have so much more business if you accept cash and debit cards at the moment of purchase or buying something at your Fitness Store gym. What are you losing by having people pay with debit card or by cash? The last time I checked a Cyber attack has happened on our internet and credit card systems. Never does are PayPal debit cards reloadable cards never had this issue with cyber-attacks credit card information being leaked out none of that. I like how they make up their own rules to accept whatever they want to be paid in their store so if every single person didn't want to use their credit cards you guys will go bankrupt? Only then will you accept cash and debit cards and reloadable cards and stuff like that but until then I'm not giving my credit card information out just so I can sign up at a gym when I can use a PayPal card or cash but your only accept credit cards which makes no sense no sense at all? Then again you guys are accepting people who have credit cards and not the lower class who don't have credit cards that's a shame for the community health. Just think about it if you accept it every single person and not just only credit cards you would make 10 times the amount of money y'all make theoretically!!! You just lost another client just like all the other client that tried to sign up without a credit card even though they do have a credit card but we don't have to give our information out to sign up and I gym ridiculous. So if a homeless man wants to workout or someone that doesn't have a credit card wants to workout and get their health together but they can't because you guys only accept credit cards what a shame! For the...
