Poets House — Attraction in New York

A welcoming, and well-welcomed reprieve from this chaotic city. I love this neighborhood as well: The esplanade, the parks, the Hudson floating toward the ocean. Here, you get great views of all of that. Just a beautiful, airy space inside. Shelves of poetry from all periods. I just love it. They offer events, classes, and even what looks like a fellowship. They could easily charge a small entrance fee or membership only to access this space, but it's open to anyone who respects the space and possibly writing, and...

When I stumbled upon this tranquil oasis around 12 years ago I thought I died and went to literary bliss!…I am a New Yorker and to have found this peaceful retreat within one of my most places in NYC called Battery Park City, was just serious icing on the cake. The Poets House is a wonderful place to sit, relax and feast your read. Perfect place to do thinking work, reading and writing upstairs. Peaceful and airy, lots of natural light. Lots of tables and comfy seating. Overlooks a park and the Hudson River.
